True Biale wine...pronounced Moon Mountain fruit without question. Strong and dense as you would expect from Biale/Moon Mt. Black raspberry, hints of molasses and pepper on the mid palette. Finishing with a zingy cherry, mocha and baking spice. Recommend another year in the bottle. — 8 years ago
1973: Beautiful bottle. Wines like this make everyone stop and take notice. The color was clear and light. Arresting nose full of plums and roasted beets. The depth of flavor and long finish was in contrast with the appearance. Really a fine experience, only second to the few times I had the 1952 Mont Real. — 8 years ago
Paired well with a lamb, eggplant purée, fava beans, piquolo pepper. Would also pair with a medium rare magret duck or other game. — 9 years ago
Enjoyed a glass at Seasons 52 in Tampa, FL. — 9 years ago
Had at thanksgiving 2014 with Fam. Everyone but Lisette really liked it. $21 at Urban Grape (5R).
Dried cherry on the nose. Licorice, funkiness/ mushrooms, earthiness, with a finish of black cherries. Smooth and lovely old-world drinking — 9 years ago
Tremendous wine - no need to decant - paired this with a veal osso bucco and it was perfect - floral, earthy musk but deep well balanced with dark fruit and a spicy finish - highly recommended for the price — 8 years ago
Wonderful balance. Merlot and Tempranillo counterweight the heavy Tanat. Still, a meaty wine for read meats. Velvety and round tho. Some blackberries and forest fruits - little tanine. — 8 years ago
Plenty of cherry, ripe fruit on nose and palate. Medium tannins with soft finish. — 9 years ago
One of the best Chianti Classicos I've tasted. Elegant, soft and intense. — 10 years ago
At first we thought it was corked. After about an hour it started kicking off and probably with more time would even excel. Black and red cherry notes with earthy - leathery spices. Light, soft and balanced tannins. High rate for its age. — 7 years ago
Liked a lot. Would buy again. — 7 years ago
Superior intensity and full-bodied weight that will be more glamorous a year from now. Great acidity and always refreshing wine showing crisp apple, pear, lemon pith and smoky volcanic minerality that really settles on the tongue. Will definitely need to revisit this down the road — 8 years ago
Any wine that can shine from a plastic cup deserves extra kudos. Mistook for a Northern nebbiolo with its structure, detail, & balance, but the fruit is pure southern, pomegranate & black currants. Eye opener (esp for 30$ list). Want to re taste in proper stemware. I think 80% nero di trioa 20% montulpiciano — 8 years ago
Lovely. Balanced. Cheap and cheerful. Surprise find. — 9 years ago

Mmmmmmmmmmm so beautiful. How can you possibly do better than this for $15? Full, thick, deep... sounds x-rated. — 7 years ago
