Great nose. Tightly focused berry fruit. Some florals. Spice. Palate is dense, concentrated and pure with wonderful elegance. Amazingly fresh and such terrific palate presence and texture. Grippy tannins and very sappy. Excellent acids. Like this a lot. Terrific sweetness. Awesome. — 6 years ago

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives. -Hedley Lamarr Blazing Saddles My mind was a whirl after drinking this wine.
This is easily one of the best Italian wines I have ever had. The color was taking on that brownish hue and the nose was gorgeous. Red fruit, minerals with silky tannins. It just kept getting better as time went by. The finish was literally a minute long. Amazing! — 9 years ago

Nice looking bottle, TS fill. Brought to Grasings in Carmel, opened/decanted 4 hrs before. Reddish tawny, doesn’t look it’s age. Wow nose. Exotic, attention grabbing. Notes of tea, rose petals, black fruit, some licorice and a little menthol. Ethereal in the mouth. Needed 5+ hrs to show its stuff. Had the staff standing in line for some shared pours. Great showing. At peak but bottles like this one are going to deliver pleasure for another 10 years easily. — 7 years ago

Don’t be fooled by its light color. This wine has bold flavor yet is very smooth and soft on the palate. — 8 years ago
1985 Giacosa Collina Rionda di Serralunga Nebbiolo. Group lunch at Ner w Hrtn, McC. Raisiny and pruney at first. More sweet than I tend to like. But it def mellowed and lost some of that cloying sweetness after some time in the decanted. We only decanted right before drinking and it prob could have used more time opening up. When it did, it was excellent. — 9 years ago
Wonderful wine. Drinking well right now — 9 years ago

Opened 1 hour prior to tasting. Beautiful mature Barolo. Looks like red burgundy. Sappy, resiny aromatics with some herbal notes. Lovely balance here. Long finish. Delicious and complete. Enjoyed with Porcini Risotto. — 5 years ago
