Asili Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1996

Was honestly a bit disappointed this relative to some other wines from him. Ie was excellent out of the bottle but I think it might have gotten over decanted 4 hrs post opening. Surprisingly I liked the 1996 Barolo from him better — 6 months ago

Good wine but it felt a little bit “tired”. Improved however over time — 8 months ago

What greedy person could possibly want something more from a bottle of wine? This was stunning. A complete experience. Absolutely loved it! Gave it plenty of time to open. Mature but still vibrant fruit. Aromatics were so enticing. Full potential of Nebbiolo. Pale and clear at the rim. Delicate on the nose but powerful and long. Just top notch. — 9 months ago

Le Rocche di Castiglione Falletto Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

Give it plenty of time in the glass or ideally in a decanter. It is a beautiful wine that needs time to open. Great effort in an off year. — 2 years ago

Dry Roero Arneis 2019

Peach fuzz, pineapple, and sea spray. Zippy acid with excellent mid palate weight. Orchard fruits with a pleasantly soapy minerality to finish. Good stuff! Thanks @Ryan Maxwell — 3 years ago

Le Rocche Del Falletto Di Serralunga D'Alba Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo

Unlike the barbaresco, this got WAY better with time in the decanter. Much more structure vs the barbaresco and more depth. It was still quite tanic out of the bottle but with time it all became well integrated. — 6 months ago

Basarin Vigna Gianmaté Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2018

Reddish in color.

Fruity nose and medium in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red currants, fresh cherries, light oak, herbs, light earth, spices, chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This 6 year old feels very young at the moment. Fruity with mild complexity. Soft and smooth. Elegant with good structure.

Needs time to open up properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged for 2 years in large French oak barrels.

15% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

A lot of wine in one glass. Full, foot-on-the-gas dark red fruit, but went down easy. A little hairy chested for Sunday night pizza, but fun nonetheless. — 4 years ago

Great nose. Tightly focused berry fruit. Some florals. Spice. Palate is dense, concentrated and pure with wonderful elegance. Amazingly fresh and such terrific palate presence and texture. Grippy tannins and very sappy. Excellent acids. Like this a lot. Terrific sweetness. Awesome. — 5 years ago

Valmaggiore Nebbiolo d'Alba 2021

Deep Ruby color with aromas of rich berry fruits and floral spice, aged for 14 months in French oak. On the palate flavors of cherry, plum and raspberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice, herbs and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with spicy mineral and earthy oak. Nice! — 8 months ago
