Bosquet des Papes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Less $$ than most CdP. Definitely recognizable as from its appellation… and a good deal, but, sure, you gotta expect to get no more than you pay for. Less nose than I like. Plenty of heat. Green cerignola olives w/o any brine. Tannic (in a good way for me). Tart red fruits. Bit of gravel juice. A Sturdy wine. Not terribly nuanced. Missing the highlights of many spiky, delicious flavors that all meld together brilliantly of the higher end CdPs, but, hey, i paid half as much as those cost…twice as much as some Côtes du Rhônes which are “correct” yet lack even more nuanced yumminess. I am happy to but this again at this price. — 12 days ago

Big and bold. Mouthfilling fruit and integrated tannins. Very good! — a month ago

Easy drinking, had it with a curry, prob not the best pairing 🤔 — 3 months ago

Les Choregies Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2015

Unfortunately my bottle was compromised and some air entered. But the vinegar at the top quickly came off revealing an intense powerful wine although with some balsamic notes. Great with our lamb souvlaki. — 8 months ago

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2015

Over three years since I opened up the first bottle. Still young-ish but much easier to drink after a quick decant of half an hour. All the typical scents and taste of C9DP. Very balanced. Clearly from a warm climate but retaining ample freshness. Like it a lot. Hope I can keep my hands off it in the coming years to check in on the remaining bottles every couple of years — a day ago
