Deep cherry red. Oak+ vanilla clove nutmeg. Black currant++ blueberry black cherry and berry. Leather+ meat. Elegancy more than complexity. It changed a lot over time. 30 min the started feeling the value of this. Compared with the last one, it has big potential, though it has already been ready to drink, since it is 2017 vintage. Star bright straw gold. Abundant funky nose of burning citrus and funghi. Medium palate is much cleaner than the nose yielding toasted lemon, white guava, and white pepper with a bit of birch on the finish. Medium plus acidity. Medium finish. A fine example of California Fumé style SB. Okay as a sipper, but built for a meal. Swordfish and scallops come racing to mind, but any white fleshed fish or shellfish should pair wonderfully. Or just upscale your fried chicken. It’s good for that, too. Drink now through 2024. — 5 years ago
Drinking this wine made me forget Donald Trump was our president. Which begs the question, is it better to have drank, then to never drank at all?

Delicious. Full. Not overly fruity. — 14 years ago
Good Oregon Pinot. Bright fruit, earth, and herbal tea. — 5 months ago
Bought at the winery after tasting in 1999, my first pilgrimage to Coonawarra. Opened very stinky but blew off with air over 30 mins to beautiful fragrant nose and that sweet soft tannin of an aged Coonawarra Cabernet. Drank gloriously over the next two hours. Still full of life at 29 years old. — 9 months ago
Fruity, bubbly/fuzzy, sweet. Always have it in hand — 4 years ago
This was great tonight. Another Maggie Harrison wine! — 6 years ago
Ruby colored liquid in my glass. Hints of cherry pie on the nose. Flavors of tart cherries, red plums and baking spices. Beautiful acidity. A very balanced wine. This is my last regular bottle of CP wine. I do have a VS Pinot which I will sit on for a while. Glad other wineries are making really good wines from the Clos Pepe vineyard. — 7 years ago
