Saint George Agiorgitiko 2015

Dark cherry, musky leather shop, hints of cinnamon on the nose. Slight viscosity, bold blackberry and kirsch, hints of charred meats, with spicy tannins gripping nicely on a lingering finish. Would probably go well with tomato-based dishes. Good value. — 2 years ago

Nemea Agiorgitiko 2010

Coming back to the Greek red wine I had last night... it’s worth a special post. Dark fruit nose, lots of spice (black pepper, cumin, clove, nutmeg) on the nose, soft herbal notes as well. Deep garnet color like an Amarone. On the palate, lots of plum, soft acidity nicely balanced by tannins. Oh the tannins in this wine! The lingering tannin is so powerful, it makes me think of tannins in a Barbaresco. It is also so grippy that I feel like I am biting into the tannins and craving some braised beef. By the way the wine is from 2010 vintage!!! For $22 this is a gem… and @sommselect I think this wine is going to age more than 5 more years. I just had it 24 hours later, and the tannins are still kicking in high gears. — 4 years ago

PGI Peloponnese Agiorgitiko

A little pleasant bitterness on the front, smooth tannins in the middle and lots of fruits and plum on the end. Very aromatic. Delicious. Not sure where we purchased it. — 4 years ago

Burgenland Blaufränkisch 2016

I had this right after I experienced the Agiorgitiko. Fantastic. Not *as* fantastic as it’s Greek cousin, but so very good. Again, much like a Pinot Noir, but with a little more depth. Possibly bordering on Syrah. — 4 years ago

Zoe Rosé Blend

Best rosé I've had so far. Tasting notes: apricot, grapefruit, honey, semi-dry.

Paired well with our dinner of various Greek pizzas.

Single Vineyard Nemea Agiorgitiko 2013

A soft complex long finish wine with hints of currants. Enjoying at Cafe Medi with lamb and falafel. The Agriorgitiko grape is wonderful with a beautiful Mediterranean meal — 3 years ago

Nemea Agiorgitiko 2014

Tasting this now@Athens in Halifax Canada! Exquisite dark burnished garnet with aromas of cedar, wild sour cherry red currant & Tobacco, lucious red fruit with a soft finish of lavender honey! Decant for 20-30 min to appreciate a more complex tasting and finish . Excellent with Loukaniko fennel orange sausage, souvlaki and light appetizers! Opa! — 4 years ago
