Everyone’s WOTN. The fruit flavors, while still present, had given way to the tertiary flavors - earth, tobacco, leather, and still a hint of eucalyptus. Such a testament to the vineyard source and winemaking for this still to be going strong after 37 years. Fun way to ring in the New Year. — 7 years ago
Had this a few years ago, disappointed that I opened this wine early so I opened one now. Deep Ruby red, with aromas of dark fruit and spice. On the palate, the blend of 51% Cab Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and 12% Cab Franc, had blackberry and plums with notes of cacao and gentle smoky/toasty oak. The wine spent 16 months in 40% new French and American oak. Full bodied, nice balance and well integrated soft tannins. Time will continue to enhance this wine. Very nice! — 7 years ago
Washington is great for Merlot. Seven Hills is known for being a beacon of sorts. They are generally the first to harvest. This is from their top Merlot blocks from the 37 year old vines in their estate vineyard. Seven Hills wines age like crazy and their Merlot based stuff calls more to the Right Bank in Bordeaux than the new world. Living in Washington, I think I view Seven Hills like listening to the Beatles or The Stones. Too much looking for the new thing & not listening enough to what one knows is great. This is great. — 8 years ago
(Y) Orig $54; paid $37. First enjoyed with LJ & Lisa the day before I deployed to Afghanistan in July 2010. Good memories good wine. — 9 years ago
A lovely #TGIF Bubbly from @ironhorsevyds Strawberry color with a persistent bead of tiny bubbles and yeasty tart red fruit, dried rose and a hint of mineral aromas. On the palate it shows a moderately creamy mousse with intense cherry, raspberry blood orange flavors. 63% Pinot Noir 37% Chardonnay. 13.5% alcohol — 10 years ago
In an amazing space, so vibrant for a 37 year old wine. Wow! — 11 years ago

At the Come Taste the Stars Dinner hosted by Tyson Stelzer. The 6 th and final Champagne and what better way to finish than with the power of a Vintage Krug. 39% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 24% Pinot Meunière ; aged more than 11 years on Lees. This is one of the rare vintages of Krug to have more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir. Malic acid to the fore with crunchy green Apple notes. Tastes amazingly young and fresh - aiming for a long living style. Noticeable acidity finishing very dry. Tyson says at 15 years of age that it needs another 15 to reach its full potential. The French Somm at Montrachet told me this was his favourite of the 6 stellar champagnes. Powerful but retains its elegance incredibly. — 6 years ago

This wine is amazing! Medium bodied red wine. Papillon is the French word for butterfly. 60%cab, 37% merlot, 2% petit Verdot, 1% melbec. — 12 years ago
Mounts is a way cool small family Dry Creek producer. 45 cab franc, 37 cab sauv, 14 Syrah, 4 Malbec. Though David is focusing on rhone varietals moving forward, his cab franc and cab franc blends are awesome. Cheers! — 13 years ago

Delicious, and a bit on the feminine side with less richness and body as in other editions, which I thought was interesting given the composition. Crowd favorite. — 6 years ago
After a spirited tussle between myself and the Durand vs a dry and crumbly cork I was able to double decant this and segregate away the remnants of floating debris. I was immediately struck by the bouquet which was unmistakably borne from Cabernet Franc (and I believe this blend is less than 10%). It was a positive sign. The wine is completely intact and boasts ample fruit albeit waning acidity. Simple Concord grape, bruised black plum and sweet oak flavors are holding on 2 hours in. This has some time left, but not much. This is a testament to Opus One quality in the early days (I believe this was the 3rd or 4th vintage) and while I think the ‘87-‘97 era was their best, this is an profound example of an exemplary wine at age 37! — 7 years ago
63/37 Verdot/Sirah made by the Scheid family. This one is surprisingly drinkable right out of the bottle! But I'd still decant for 30 minutes+. It's an explosion of various berries, but also features tar, black licorice, and cocoa. Additionally, it comes in at a mere 14%. A refreshingly drinkable Petite/Petite! — 8 years ago
Hello wine lovers! GLED IN på Hansa 14:37 och bara högg den. Jag tänker mörka bär, konjak, viss fatkaraktär, choklad, lite gillestuga. Krämigt, runt och förföriskt i gommen men precis lagom med tanniner. Prisvärt! 👌🏽🍷 — 9 years ago
Solid South American mountain juice. Good structure and texture. — 10 years ago

Adolph Mueller Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett Riesling 1982 Mosel, Germany
Here is another great taste of history. This 37 year old is surprisingly, still very drinking nicely. Showing lots of complexity on the nose and palate.
Medium plus in body and crisp, with medium plus acidity.
Off dry on the palate with citrus, honey, ripped apples, light maple, tropical fruits, pineapples, citrus and Indian spices.
Tangy finish with spices and honey.
Very Stinky right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up (30 minutes).
Very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with a spicy Tuna Tataki dish.
10% alcohol by volume.
90 points. — 6 years ago
