Black olive tread left burnt across blackberry tarmac. A spotting of shiitake and portobello with plum and strawberry reductions garnished with eucalyptus and parsley effusion. Black olive, charcoal, black cherry, black currant, graphite, teakwood, oolong, black pepper, dried violet and sage make this a winner. Initially pointed and closed. This is Day 3 tasting, and beefy and bright dichotomies abound. #aranth #syrah #italianwines #italian #veneto #LaCalonica #cortona #earthy #earthynotes — 6 years ago
This is one of the most curious wines I have tasted. It is made in the #Veneto area with the grape #tairosso which is also #tokairosso which is supposively #garnacha #grenache I say supposively because this wine on the nose and on the palate was very much like a Cabernet Sauvignon and full of pirazina aromas at the same time as ripe black fruit (black cherry, plum and cassis). #italy — 3 years ago
chamomile, preserved lemon, tropical fruit, sea minerals, definite savory note, almost to the point of ‘mushroomy’. savory but fresh and tropical at the same time. enjoyable but prob wouldn’t buy again unless for a cheap picnic-y type outing. ($16!)
mid/high acid but still pretty round and smooth.

My favorite Space so far. Dark gold robe with subtle reflections. Oak fermentation done to perfection and pleasing traces of it in the bouquet. Gorgeous stone fruits and white floral notes on the palate. The finish is lengthy, fresh and mineral. Great producer. #roccolograssi #soave #veneto #garganega — 6 years ago
Rim to rim dark, to black ruby. Big perfumed nose of lavender, jasmine, cherry blossom, black raisin, devil's food, blacktop, and pencil shaving with a sprinkling of sweet aquarium suggestions including algae and mixed hardwoods. This is sourced from the vines on the end of the rows, and dried on vine for a unique wine from a highest-quality Amarone producer. #Nicolis #aziendaagricolanicolis #Amarone #rosso #valpolicella #passito #italianwines #veneto — 6 years ago

Medium bodied red, pronounced savory character on nose, some wild cherry, underbrush. Fruitier on the palate though pleasingly racy, faint soft tannins. Really quite nice paired with Fettuccine Alfredo and thick Chicago-style sausage pizza though some vanilla notes in the pairing suggest new oak was utilized to round out this cuvée. Nevertheless, there’s substantial QPR on this #veneto half-decade old wine for $9 at #costco — 2 years ago
