This smells and tastes like aged #bourgogne level red #burgundy The color was orangish-pink. The nose was low intensity and the palate was missing fruit and dominated by vegetation like rhubarb. The tannins were quite drying and the finish was short. Definitely a peculiar wine. #arnotroberts #trousseau #northcoast #california #ctbucklinwine — 6 years ago
Spicy autumn nose of rosemary and cinnamon with light vanilla and clove. Dusty oak and acorn, grape, raisin, and cassis. Peppery pointed on the palate with dark cherries and black and red currant. Black olive textured, but with tart cherry, baked plum, St. John’s wort, sloe and cassis. Dried blackberry. Amazing offering from an American producer willing to let the produce shine!

I got this as a gift and was leery given some of the previous vintage reviews here. I’m happy to report this Josh Cellars is a pleasant everyday #merlot from #northcoast CA, concentrated plum aromas, firm acidity, moderate oak with some cocoa notes and slightly soft tannins. Winemaker Joseph Carr has upped his game for 2018 - quite good QPR for just over $10. — 2 years ago
