Hasn't been so long since I opened this, but I'm trying to keep my hands off the Clos Electrique and Abbey Ridge. Wanted to wait until day 2, but failed. Pop, pour, showed a little funk, so I splash decanted this and let it sit. Notes from 2 hrs open. With some air, the funk becomes a lovely earthy mushroom savory note, with loads of sweet strawberry and cranberry carrying it. Fantastic acidity and spice on the palate, with a touch of black tea and very soft tannin. Another special bottle. — 2 days ago
Willamette Blush, Willamette Valley, 68/20/12 blend of Auxerrois, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Good acidity, light skin astringency on finish, light cherry-berry and lactic notes but mostly orchard fruit flavors. Unusual wine, tannin backbone gives it real character. — 5 days ago
@delectable martin woods chardonnay havlin vineyard.
Nose is melon. Some mineral. White flowers.
Palate is green apple. Nice acidic tang. Very, very delicious.
Finish is so elegant. Mineral Really long and fresh and juicy.
Let’s see where this goes.
Day 2 is much better. Much Better density. Some elegant richness.
Try in 2 years.

Super mineral nose with discreet framing oak. Lemon flesh. Some rainer cherries. Saline and iodine. Subtle yet focused and incredibly complex nose. Such nice earth and mineral tones. Smells like Burgundy of yesteryear. Palate is so lean, salty and concentrated with a lingering hint of complex sweetness from the wood on the incredibly persistent finish. So juicy and leaning on the palate and just laser focused. So long. This has much more to give and has closed down a bit since I tasted it last. But a stunner. I’ll be back as it airs.
After 4 hours this is a wonder and has opened beautifully. Clear barely ripe granny smith apple, stunning mineral breadth and some white flowers. Palate is so juicy and saline. Luscious. It’s loosened up quite a bit. Long, structured finish. Super juicy. Fantastic. — 10 days ago
This is the 2012 J. Christopher Willamette Valley Unfiltered Pinot Noir from Newberg, Oregon.
On the nose is bright cherry, strawberry, cranberry, clove, vanilla, sweet oak, barnyard funk, cinnamon and soil.
Onnthe palate I found cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cola, mushroom, hibiscus, black tea, spice and earth.
This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and fine supple tannins that leaves you with a long red fruit dusty soil finish. This weekend looks to be a good one. Go out and enjoy yourselves and try some nice wines. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 days ago
Very pale salmon in color.
Light to medium in body and fresh, with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing raspberries, limes, citrus, green apples, light grapefruits and bitter herbs.
This is a tasty Rosé from Oregon. Nicely balanced with a nice crisp mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food.
12.5% alcohol by volume.

From magnum. 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir with lees. Sees barrel and steel with lees playing a big part along the way. So unique. Introspective. Faint blush in the glass but all about the texture. Salty and chalky. Long finish that is very faintly oxidative. These Morgen Long wines are really saying something. — 11 days ago
Nice winery, nice owners and welcoming staff. Brought home a bottle and drank it, chilled. Reddish pink, excellent clarity. Floral aroma, cherry-berry and orchard fruit flavors, crispish finish. Cherry and tart apple aftertaste., with a hint of malolactic in there. You can taste the Pinot noir in this one. Quaffable, perfect for sharing on a warm summer evening. — 2 days ago
Medium Ruby with aromas of berries, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and black raspberry with notes of currants, pepper and cinnamon spice and earthy oak notes. Aged for 10 months on French oak, fine grainy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, vanilla oak character. Very nice. — 5 days ago
N: Very grassy, stony, a hint of pineapple coming through.Mineral, almost the beachyness* of Chablis or…Manzanilla.
P: Subdued Green apple, crunchy, some salt, Interesting wood on the palate from combination of French & Oregonian oak.
It’s there, but not interfering. No but-tah.
Delicious, snappy, refreshing.
