Really interesting 50 yr blend at Opera restaurant in Stockholm — 4 years ago
A Gemischter Satz from Burgenland, slightly naturalistic, a bit funky, highly drinkable.
A flowery nose with some ripe pear, apple, summer meadow but also a salty, herby note adding an interesting edge.
On the palate this is vibrant, energetic, juicy. There’s a bit of grip, a beautiful mouthfeel, nice mid palate presence. Yellow fruit, ripe & a bit bruised, with great juiciness and an underlying salty minerality.
This has character, interesting edges and good depth. And disappears in a blink.
Lobe the label, too! — 4 years ago
Première expérience avec Meinklang, petit fizz en bouche, abricots, pêche, miel mais sans trop de sucrosite. Belle fraicheur, ca se boit seul. Plus un vin de patio que de journee de tempête disons! — 5 years ago
One of the first natural wines I ever tried; always a delight to drink again. Tart citrus, a touch of wet dog? — 3 months ago
Jammy if that’s a thing for a white.
Citrusy lemony flavor with a thick Chardonnay body.
Enjoyable
(FYI: Great with a chicken pot pie.)

The grand finale! Dad brought this. I tasted apricot and agave. Tasting notes were marmalade and barley sugar. I can’t say I could pin “barley sugar” but I am stashing that descriptor for future tastings 🤪 — 3 years ago

Whole cluster skin contact natty wine. Gooseberry, Granny Smith apples, lightly floral honeysuckle, mild tannins, mouthwatering acidity. Recommended by @Triza Brion! — 5 years ago
Wine 1/12 (Gemischter Satz)
Nose has pear, wild yeast fermentation, pineapple core, cold orange slice and minor apple cider.
Palate has cooked pear, mild Saison-esque notes, cold pineapple, dry minerality, peach peel, nice acidity and a medium finish.
Once again it is notable that I have made one full trip around the Sun earlier this week. We had our small, social bubble team to the house for celebrating my getting older and somewhat less flexible in advancing age...Whatever will be done when I creast 50? Well, at least it's several years until needing manage that concern.
We enjoyed well-salted Ribeyes (Kinderhook Farm - Valatie, NY, prepared 48h in advance), turning to a beautiful medium-rare after a mere 12m of grill time and smashed, small red potatoes with capers (yeah try it, don't judge me yet). None of the bottles were particularly planned as 'steak wines'; we didn't care as it really was a wine nerd-fest of grapes/regions, from Burgenland, Austria to Brittany, France. Wine and food were on individual plateaux today. This was the vom Boden Spring Experience case, expertly curated by Stephen Bitterolf, and well received by our tasting crew. — 6 years ago
Age has not slowed this wine down in 2025. Multifaceted. Almost too much going on. Doesn't know when to settle down. — 9 months ago

I really need to stop storing whites in my food fridge when they seem to always open once reaching a cellar temp. Here's a fun little field blend that takes to warming well. Chardonnay, Weissburgunder, Grüner Veltliner, Roter Veltliner and Riesling. What I'd call a silver-skinned nose - green herbal scents mixed into flint and smoke. A little bit of texture and bite, interplay of high acid and cream. Lands nicely with apples, pears, kumquat, and starfruit and that little bite which I love. — 5 years ago

Pale amber. Fresh and dried mango and pineapple, golden raisin, yellow fig, marigold steeped in black tea. Crushed white stone. Strong olong tea, fresh herbs... Medium dry to medium sweet? Medium intensity on the nose up a notch on the palate. Medium+ finish. Elevated acidity at 12% abv. — 6 years ago

Not usually a white wine fan but the fizziness and citrus funk reminded me almost of a very natural cider. Bought after a wine tasting at local store. — 10 days ago
