Medium light Ruby with wide garnet ruby rim. This is quite reserved , cool and mineral on the nose , some pine notes with herbal , red cherry , cranberry hints , black tea . On the palate this has more red fruits , raspberry , red cherry, sweet wild strawberry , along with black tea , thyme and rosemary . Wet slate tinged finish . High acidity and fine but gritty tannins . Long and really detailed . Very young but will age effortlessly for another 20 years , perhaps more . Very promising . Cooking class with sommelier and Peter. Like a Zinfandel. — 2 months ago
Tasting notes of cherry and brown sugar with high tannins and a zippy finish. Really good if you’re looking for a bright, straightforward wine that can pair well with a lot — 8 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2013 “Etichetta Bianca” pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fascinating notes of ripe and desiccated fruits: black cherry, pomegranate, red flowers, roasted beef, cedar chest, alpine herbs and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. Ferrando’s Carema (both white and black labels) are never short on personality and always such a joy to share with others. Drink now through 2043. — 7 days ago
