For a red lover, and not a fan of Chards, this wine knocked me off my feet! I absolutely Loved it! If I could describe my perfect request for a white wine, it would be this one. Butterscotch, almond, a slight fruity hint of lemon zest but not sharp or tart, buttery and bright yet incredibly smooth and a nice heavy feel. This is my favorite white wine ever! Really trying to get an understanding of the Lagrein grape while in its home region of Italy. This is a nice one, but quite different in style than the Nusserhof we had the other night. Deep dark violet in the glass. After an hour of air, quite nice aromatically, with deep dark fruits coming through and the initial oak note blowing off. Full bodied, with a fair bit of young tannin - which made it a great pairing for simple meats from a rustic wood grille. Nice long finish with good acid. — 5 years ago
