Another bottle I forgot to get a picture of in situ. Made from Tinta Negra in canteiro. A caramel glaze about to burned brown color, veering into golden brown at the rim. Utterly mouthwatering (and I should say nose quivering) aromas of caramel, brown sugar, sugarcane, molasses, coffee, and dark chocolate, plus a hint of earth and smoke. It is sweet, oh yes, it is, but the acid is bracing. The palate confirms the nose with the addition of caramelized grapefruit, figs, dates and cocoa. Geez Louise, it’s good. Almost cola on the finish. — 2 years ago
.175 ml bottle. Dry Madeira. Pleasant. A native Maderian told me recently that Barbeito is middling so I’m probably biased. — a month ago
Dark amber. Treacle, toffee, and tangelo on the inviting nose and full, rich palate. "Rich" meaning "sweet," of course, but well balanced with medium, citrusy acidity. Naturally, a lengthy finish. You got cheese? Nuts? Dried fruit? Here's your fourth for dessert. Drink now through whenever. — 4 months ago

A lighter style red, quite Gamay like with some fresh red & black fruit and a touch of turned earth.
Highly drinkable, with nice freshness and a bit of depth. Nice character, too.
Lovely slightly chilled with grilled shrimp. — 22 days ago
