Initially gripping tannins, after two hours of decanting, it drastically changed and softened to allow fruit to come through. Nose: cigar, dark dried cocoa powder, espresso, blackberry black currant, prunes, leather, complex flavors; this wine is excellent. — 4 months ago
Charles Hendricks last vintage at Regusci and what a vintage 2013 was in Napa. If you’re are going to go out on a high note, 13 would be it. The most underrated Winemaker in Napa Valley.
Dark, ruby, lush, currents, raspberries, plum skin, strawberries, dark chocolate, lots of salted caramel notes, mid spice, tarriness, black licorice, soft dark earth with dry top soil, dry tobacco, used leather, vanillin, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, withering dark floral, lavender framed in violets, excellent acidity and great structure, tension, balance and perfectly polished for days. — 5 months ago
Drinking superbly now! Some dark cherry chocolate, cassis and caramel-clove on the nose, brighter cherry and plum skin on the palate with savory tannins and a mineral-driven finish. Very pretty Cab from the super cool Steve Reynolds 😁🍷 — 9 months ago
Extremely Nice… in all aspects — 2 years ago
Light color, creamy, good acidity. High alcohol. Bouquet pineapple, sideways, saline, honey and tangerine. Taste, pineapple, oily, creamy, sour apple tartness and strong honey. Good balance when chilled once warmed it was more sweet. — 7 years ago
Just the right amount of oak and butter. — 8 years ago
Super herbaceous. Thyme, soy sauce , lush fruit, fig, Jammy, not a ton of acid and tannin on the 2020. Definitely more savory Vs the FAY which I also love. Big long finish that lingers. 14.8% — 3 months ago
Ok, 2014s turning 10 so gonna be exploring these. RP says 2014s are ready so bring it on!
Fantastic nose. It doesn’t jump out of the glass like TRB’s 4 winds from last weekend (I could smell that forever) but this one is a statement of elegance. Violets, black fruit, graphite, and mocha.
Great mouthfeel at the beginning. Fruit is wonderful, chocolate, but I will say that I’m here too early. Tannin sticking out - a little greenness to the tannin as well. Ends with drying pucker. I was hoping I’d be past that on 10th birthday. Just speaks to a better rating in the future. Would think 3-5 years until another one? — 4 months ago
So strong it will grow hair on your chest. This wine needs another five years before opening. No question this is a well-made wine with extraordinary potential. Slightly sweet to start, smooth tannins in the finish. Overwhelming fruit to start. — 6 months ago

Darkest ruby red color. Full of black currants, black berries, dark red cherries and plums. Hints of chocolate and burned wood. — 4 years ago
Impressive from our Oregon trip last year! 2013 is cooler vintage and this wine had density and depth of volcanic minerality. — 7 years ago
Deep ruby/purple. Chocolate, spice, tobacco, dried fruit, plum, and minerality on the nose. Smooth finish with silky tannins. Fantastic and a true reflection of #stagsleap, #napa, #baldacciwinery — 10 years ago
A well done blend honoring their winemaking history. January 2024. — 3 months ago
Great expressive Cabernet Sauvignon Black Cherry, Plum, Tobacco, notes of smoke and cocoa. Tannins are smoothing out nicely. — 3 months ago
Still a bit tanniny that may need decanting, depending on how you want to enjoy it. — 4 months ago
Decanted this 2006 for a day before drinking. I did taste when I first opened and it was good but after a day it was soft and luscious in the mouth and tasted precisely like what it is, a merlot driven Bordeaux. It paired beautifully with a hearty beef stew and then was great on its own. — 5 months ago
Really good but drink around now. Stewed fruits but still fresh. Not a Bordeaux style but a bit larger with elegant and a bit of power. Glad I could share this with my folks. Fruits are rhubarb now after about an hour. Leaning down a little but still good. Definitely open the bottle of you have it soon imo — 8 months ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Merlot (15%). Deep ruby color. Dark fruit aromas and flavors (blackberry and plum) with hints of violets and pepper spice. Touch of dark chocolate on the rich finish. Medium bodied and round. Fruit forward and plush. — 9 months ago
The legendary John Williams and his team has put together a fantastic wine this vintage and as always a bargain considering the origin. Crafted as always in the classic style, yet no denying of its provenance. The 2017 Frog’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon walks the talk with a luxury appeal, a fashion model in an haute couture dress.
Ripe fruit with soft edges but with plenty of energy and nerve. Cassis, black plums, red strawberries and floral minty lift backed by a sweet spice, graphite, tobacco, pine wood and dusty rocks.
Refreshing acidity, pronounced but approachable tannins that is balanced by a soft and fruity texture. Dense and concentrated flavor profile with a fresh spine that permeates the palate. Strong mid palate and an evolving complexity through a solid finish.
