Last bottle, tasting one year since last pour. Pale yellow with golden tinge, excellent clarity. Sulfur and tropical fruit aroma. Semi-dry, soft, slight spritz on finish. Floral, peach and tropical fruit (guava) flavors, bright crisp acidity, excellent with food. Aging well, solid choice. Minor skin astringency in finish, aftertaste. — 8 years ago
So much reduction and life-spritz!
Vivacity and minerality. Decades ahead — 8 years ago
Drank the previous bottles in 2013 and 2014 - must have lost track of this one. A bit of spritz on opening, but still has some acidity/minerality. @Kimberly Anderson @Phil A - just another February Rosé day in San Diego. Stay warm! ⛄️ — 8 years ago

This has aged nicely, if minimally. Still a reasonably dark ruby, still a subtle bit of spritz on opening that blew off quickly. Very mineral with fine and largely resolved tannins, pert acidity that is a little mellower than before, a savory quality that speaks to the Rhône. — 8 years ago
Checking back in on this 2010 from just about a year ago. Brought this bottle back from Alsace in the Spring of 15. Hugel was such a great visit. A ton of history there. Huge very old wooded vats with thick layers of tartaric crystals. Alsace is an area that not only had to fight off phylloxera but was also ravaged by two world wars. It's hard to find late 30's and early 40's Alsace Rieslings. The German soldiers drank most or all of them. I don't remember his name but the English gentleman who took us around that day but he had been there 30 plus years and knows their history front to back. A really nice man who is an amazing host and wealth of knowledge. As for this wine, not much has changed in a year and I'm copying over my previous notes. Lemon/lime pulp spritz, lemon bars, ripe grapefruit, grapefruit pit, ripe pineapple, white peach, green melon skin, bartlett pear, green apple, strong yellow florals, chalky minerality and beautiful acidity. Good balance and a long rich smooth finish. — 9 years ago

Terrific, zesty summer wine. A bit of spritz, clean, lively mouthfeel. Subtle fruit, honey, straw, floral notes. 11% alcohol. Goes down pretty quickly. From Lyle. — 7 years ago
