Surprising sleeper. Got it at as an end bin sale. Really enjoyable. Will definitely look for more! — 8 years ago
The 2012 Petit-Village is juicy, exuberant and forward, with striking palate presence, silky tannins and terrific overall balance. Sweet floral and spice notes add nuance on the gracious finish. Readers should expect a decidedly feminine, sensual Pomerol with considerable early and mid-term appeal. There is plenty to like here. The Petit-Village could very well be a sleeper of the vintage. In 2012 the blend is 80% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spent 20 months in barrel, 80% new. Julien Lavenu is the consulting winemaker. Real sleeper here... silky subtle sensual.... will seek out again — 8 years ago
You can tell this is a quintessential Bordeaux from a mile away. A solid backbone of fruit quickly gives way to tons of funky music - mushroom, olive, wet earth, and awesomeness. Medium-bodied; smooth. The finish is long, loamy, and mouth-puckering. A sleeper - this is seriously underrated. You can find it for around $20. Just got it at Costco. Stock up. — 8 years ago
Loved the energy here. All herbs and electricity. Sleeper. — 9 years ago
Sleeper street. Again a wonderful IPA from Trillium. 7.2% ABV — 10 years ago
Tout le monde est français aujourd'hui. (Oui, je parle français. Un peu.)
A lot going on here. Blackberry, plum, lead pencil, tobacco. Velvety touch. Long finish full of secondary flavors. Classic Bordeaux. A sleeper. — 10 years ago
The sleeper vintage! The true winemaker's vintage - separating the men from the boys! Not for the faint of heart! — 10 years ago
Albesani is a vineyard on the same hill as Santo Stefano. Gorgeous, perfumed nose of dark cherry, rose, truffle, and underbrush. This is a tremendous sleeper of a wine. Good now and for 10+ years. — 11 years ago
Lots going on , toast, cots , a sleeper, try again — 11 years ago
This is a great bottle wine with or without food....a sleeper as this will be a favorite for a long time to come — 11 years ago
Surprisingly well balanced, super yummy. Total sleeper from a great Brunello producer. — 11 years ago
The nose is big. There are lots of blackberry, spice, smoke and tobacco flavors. Tight, as expected. Was a taste test as plan to give a couple as gifts. With a good decant, this is enjoyable now but my advice is set it down and let it do its thing. The ‘14 is really undervalued and well priced at around $30-$35, compared to prior years. This vintage is a sleeper for sure. — 8 years ago
Lean year. But wow this rocks. Balance outstanding. Opened up more and more over an hour. This is a sleeper. If you drank it young them you missed out. This has years to go. Earth. Think forest floor. Love it. — 9 years ago
Sleeper of the vintage? Yes, doubtless! Ultra-classic? Graceful and elegant with rounded off tannins, still providing a positive grip which frames the traditional fruit profile. Long, fresh finish. — 10 years ago
This one's a sleeper! Sensational wine under a plain-looking label. Bold and full bodied, bountiful but bearable dark fruits, a bit of wax aroma, and plenty of refreshing acid. Rad! — 10 years ago
Brettier than I expected. Sleeper vintage in a great spot right now. — 10 years ago
Total sleeper wine. Symmetry polish and dark fruit to match. Def a wine to buy if you can find it. My 1st of ghost block. — 11 years ago
I've been looking for that $30 bottle that outshines any other - I think I've found it. Parker calls this the benchmark for fronsac and a sleeper of the vintage.. The nose is gorgeous with notes of vanilla, coffee bean, lilac, and lavender. On the palate, it's supple and enticing with sweet strawberries, chewy vanilla and oak, chocolate covered cherries and a velvety kirsch finish. Yup, it's good. — 11 years ago
Parker called it a "sleeper of the vintage".It was! — 13 years ago
