San Giorgio

Ugolforte Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2020

2020 vintage. Medium/medium-heavy body. Shy bouquet. Great melding of flavors already tho. Showing nicely for a prettier, speed bump-free Brunello effort. 3.11.26. — 5 days ago

Podere San Lorenzo

Bramante Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Better than when I had it a couple years ago. Wouldn’t have guessed it was 15.5% until I read my previous review. Very nice rich fruit, but not jammy or stewed at all. The good acid really holds it all together. — 7 months ago

Mastrojanni (Poderi Loreto e San Pio)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Bright ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit, Asian spices, wet soil, garrigue and wood ash. Flavors of cranberry, red cherries, red plums, tobacco, Earl Grey tea, dark chocolate, grilled herbs and baking spices. Long and lingering finish. Dusty tannins, firm structure and bright acidity. Lovely concentration and mouth coating texture. Bring on the grilled meat. Great choice, Keith S! — 3 months ago

Capella Sant'Andrea

Capella Sant' Andrea Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2022

Light straw color. Delicate aromas and flavors of green melon, unripe peaches, white flowers and a light touch of minerality. Nice hint of blanched nuts on the long and crisp finish. Beautifully balanced and fresh. Outstanding value. — 7 months ago

San Polo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2022

Had at Landini Brothers on 1/11/2026 for Mom’s b-day with the family. Very enjoyable, lighter, balanced Italian red. Paired well with everything and had good fruit and structure. — 2 months ago
