Deep ruby hue. Notes of blackberry, olives, pepper, and tar. Full tannins and high acidity. Superb with meats. — 2 years ago
Comparing two 2010 Sagrantino di Montefalcos. Both opened for an hour first. I thought the Adanti was a bit softer and more aromatic at first. But the Perticaia had more structure, depth and complexity. Decanted the Perticaia for dinner (only have one decanter) and it improved even more. In the past I thought the Adanti had quite a tannic punch. That has faded over the 3 years since I last opened one. — 3 years ago
Big rich nose. Loads of spices and dark berry fruits. Mulberry as well and a dark earthy character. Brooding. Palate is enormously complex with awesome icing on cake texture and dazzling purity. So clean. Elegant for such a big boy. Concentrated with lovely sweet tiny berry fruit that is so explosive and fresh. Clean and ultra pure. — 5 years ago
Very drinkable, nice with dinner, crisp and easygoing — 6 years ago
Beautifully perfumed with spice and dried flowers and earth. Tannins have mellowed since last bottle a little over a year and a half ago, though still grippy on the sides of the mouth. — 7 years ago

The 2016 a big wine & ready to drink at its peak. Open and decanted for 30 minutes- plenty of acidity and structure. On the nose and on the palate, tart fruit- dark cherry and raspberry- and cardamon spice. After 45 minutes open the wine softened and opened beautifully. My estimate is that It should be drinking well through 2027. — 8 months ago
Deep color, great structure and tannins. A very good red wine not well known but one of my favorites. — 2 years ago
Leave it to Bea to create a perfectly poised, structured and classic wine in such a warm vintage. The 2015 Pipparello Montefalco Rosso Riserva takes time to blossom in the glass, showing little more than dusty roses, hints of white smoke and cranberry at first. However, with coaxing, it grows in richness and volume, displaying crushed black cherry giving way to clove, lavender, sage, mint leaf and air-dried meats. All the while, there’s a fresh and feminine character, following through to the silky, almost creamy textures, which never feel weighty or cloying. Ripe red fruits and inner florals cascade across a core of spice and minerals as a layer of fine tannin begins to penetrate deeply, drying the senses and creating a sour twang. The palate aches under the Pipparello’s massive structure, and notes of tart citrus and concentrated wild berry fruit linger long. It’s going to take some time for the 2015 to mature into a more pleasurable expression, but it will be worth the wait. This is composed of 60% Sangiovese, 25% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino, all matured in large neutral barrels and released significantly later than most other producers' wines.
