Drinking tight, as most were tonight, but excited at the potential for this bad boy. Lovely aromatics and rich dark red fruits, spices, leather, and tobacco. — 6 years ago
I don’t think I’ve ever rated a three dollar wine this hi! Great blend from Rabbit Ridge that’s a short term but at TJs. Immediately got a few more bottles for it will soon be gone. Did I say this was 3 bucks? — 7 years ago
Great wine bought in Ithaca. Bright flavors, great acid. Just lovely. — 8 years ago
Light bodied with a nose of vanilla, plums, and red fruits. This ain't your average Syrah by any means. A spicy palate with some rustic undertones. A touch sweeter than I expected but in a good way. Nice, long finish. Not a lot of fat on this one but it still makes an impression. — 9 years ago
Red currant, cherry, and leather with a medium body and finish. — 4 years ago

Another winner from Russell From at Herman Story. Great notes of dark chocolate, blackberry, and kirsch on the nose. Beautifully integrated palate with sweet, evolved tannins enveloped in fruit and glycerine, followed by a nice (albeit slightly hot) finish. Terrific. — 8 years ago

Delightful Pinot, amazing value Russell Bevan legend — 9 years ago
Inaugural vintage of a truly great wine. This wine is pre- Russell Bevan - Luc Morlet is the wine maker. The wine is so soft at this point with a finish that persists in such a harmonious fashion. Absolute treat. The fruit is dark and delicious. The alcohol is >15% but the wine is so well balanced, the alcohol does not seem out of place. Great wine. — 6 years ago

Interest Cab with very strong floral notes. Both on the nose and the pallet! A little bit unbalanced with medium body but strong finish. We had fond memories of the old grouchy winemaker. One of the first we met in Walla Walla. He was called the ‘grave digger’. Tough guy, tough life but a heart of gold. — 7 years ago

Still quite young, but good flavors and potential. Currently lacks complexity and is more primary in its palate presentation, but still quite tasty. A bit rough around the edges. Needs time. — 9 years ago

Slightly hazy (unfined?) gold. Abundant nose of honeyed tropical fruits, baked apple, and vanilla tinged orange crème. Full-bodied palate of cooked pineapple, baked apple, hint of orange, yellow lilies, and… how does one say “baseball bat” only subtly? Another quintessential Russell Bevan white that’s a monster in body, but velvet on the palate. A big wine that begs for big, complex dishes. My drinking partner (who suggested the wine was like an Adele song… you think it’s going to be a rustic stumble, but it clearly has much more going on) made an incredible pork loin, root vegetable, and apple entrée that was right where a dish should be to stand up to this wine. Similar dishes will work. Not your grandmother’s Chardonnay. Drink now through 2023. — 4 years ago
