Rosemary, basil, pepper, dried hay, dried violet on the nose. Juicy fresh cherries, ripe blueberries, purple flowers, and stones on the palate. Medium plus acidity, medium (+) tannins. 14.5%. Pronounced concentration and long finish. — 7 years ago
Elegant and complex with notes of rosemary stems, blackberry, licorice, forest floor — 8 years ago
High concentration medium staining. Dark ruby, Jammy to dried dark cherries, black currants, cassis, licorice/anise, tea leaves, clay, basil, rosemary, all spices, green pepper, mushroom. Low acidity, medium plus tannins - soft and velvety, medium plus body. Medium (plus) oak influences of spices. — 8 years ago
Blackberry, licorice, leather, black olives and rosemary — 9 years ago
Brambly wild fruit on the nose. Raspberry, blackberry definitely with some fruit concentration. A wild, sage, rosemary element that darkens this otherwise bright wine in a good way. Like Poe wouldn't be a legend without the darkness — 9 years ago
This is a “Tig” in it’s prime, wel aged and a real charmeur! De lady of this house loved it and that’s always a good sign. Nice developed tannins with some silky chocolate and mokka, dark ripe forest fruit and some classic dried herbs like rosemary and thyme. You can easily drink a bottle but I keep a half for later. — 5 years ago
Even better on day 2! Let this breathe! Forest floor/tertiary notes, pine, cedar, cocoa, plum, sweet berries, I like the Campari note that someone noted... that sort of medicinal quality!
On the palate, stemmy, upfront tannins, smooths out into an etheral expression of tart forest berries, plums, some oak, coffee bean, cocoa nib, pine/rosemary, quite savoury.
This almost reminds me of something out of Italy!
Overall, a beautiful Loire red with lots to offer. Love the savoury characteristics! Cheers! — 5 years ago
Last bottle, and damn it's drinking fine! No new notes today, but I must identify that the waxy notes and acidity are transcendent...This bottle still has years. 🥲
Prior notes:
Nose has dried grapefruit rind, honeydew melon, dry sage, fresh rosemary and beeswax.
Palate has ripe honeydew melon, dried lemon, lemon juice, acidic pear, orange rind with plenty of dry minerals and acidity for days. Wonderful. — 5 years ago
Forward, warm, ripe, sweet nose oozing Grenache character. Cherry kirsch, blackberry, savory spice, rosemary, lavender. Intensely mineral mid palate, big tannins moving back to front and back again. Palate-coating monster that needs ample time to settle down. Excellent potential. — 8 years ago
Well balanced ; cedar rosemary; elegant medium bodied finish ; cedar balsamic dried cherries — 9 years ago
Well made wine. Black cherry, plum, and anise. A nice barnyard background gives way to herbs and earth. The palate doesn't disappoint, mellow tannins, good acidity and well integrated fruit. Dry yet juicy. If only I had a rosemary lamb chop, my experience would be complete. — 9 years ago

Interesting to compare this Mourvèdre from its spiritual home of Bandol with the same grape from d’Arenberg in McLaren Vale tasted a day ago. This has the garrigue type aromas expected, of Lavender and Thyme with a little Rosemary. Much of this grows around the vineyards in Provence and Bandol. Rich and flavoursome - berry fruits and some gaminess. 10/10 for the nose - loved it. This is textbook Mourvèdre probably only matched by Domaine Tempier. This is the 6th of 6 bottles I purchased 10 years ago, and the best. — 8 years ago
Big Wave Dave
Insane complexity. Bacon cheeseburger in a glass. Dark fruit, with hints of fig, rosemary, and mushroom sauvage. Strong bacon, savoury meat character. Med/full but not in any way heavy. Complete, and drinking beautifully. Will go forever, but singing now. — 4 years ago
