Medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of violets, cherries, and cloves; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of cherry, blackberry, baking spices , and hibiscus with a long finish. This wine is complex and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 7 months ago

2021 vintage.
Sangiovese 60 % and Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % from Pitigliano estate in Maremma, Tuscany with a southwest exposure.
Owned by Tommasi family since 1997.
Rompicolla is ‘breakneck’ but means tremendously steep and slippery slope…a risky adventure.
Soils are deep in volcanic tuff.
Stainless steel ferment and matured 1 year in 65 HL Slavonian oak casks.
Red cherries, raspberries, savoury spice, and floral.
Medium bodied but fresh and clean on the finish.
This wine loves food ….and I appreciate that. — 4 months ago
Tasted it at Salute wine bar immediately cherry flavor and smell.
Tasting: cherry, black plum, wild herb, leather, and spiced mocha notes, while a finely textured cloak of cannons and striking acidity provide the structural integrity for graceful bottle aging

On the nose a stable, dark fruit, wet leaves, licorice. A big wine in other words, this Super Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Alicante, 10% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. On the palate there is softness, round, dark fruit, some tobacco. A lively wine with a bite. Great surprise. — 5 years ago
Stellar bottle of wine from one of the vineyards we visited in the fall. note to self: order more! — 6 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of black cherry, espresso, black tea, dried herbs and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now with patience but, to my palate, I think this will be better with a few more years in the cellar so the oak can better integrate. This is built to last well past 2041. — 5 months ago
Touch of pepper, decent length, fill up front, mid palate nice. Up front. Jammy, horse shit, barnyard, — 5 months ago
