20 years old, and still wonderful. A very well-made wine. — 5 years ago
LP 3 from the Gurdjieff/ de Hartmann box set and a spectacular Barbera. The music is a collection of beautiful piano compositions based on the spiritual teachings of George Gurdjieff. The wine has all the juicy pleasure one expects from Barbera, but has plenty of structure as well. Tannins add some texture & the acidic lift adds complexity to the wine. I absolutely love Barbera, and this is a top level example. — 7 years ago

Slight cherry cola note in the nose, earthy, truffle like, pale tawny color, lean restrained palate, but delicate and beautiful — 11 years ago

A fruit bomb, silky and textured on the palate, drinking amazing — 4 years ago
Not a 1er Cru, but it should be! Lovely Vosne. Velvet, sappy cherry fruit with Vosne spice. Hints of vanilla and stones. A whiff of oak char on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decanted for 2 hours prior to consumption. — 5 years ago
Beautiful poise and intensity. A little drying on the finish. — 6 years ago
Nice looking bottle, TS fill. Brought to Grasings in Carmel, opened/decanted 4 hrs before. Reddish tawny, doesn’t look it’s age. Wow nose. Exotic, attention grabbing. Notes of tea, rose petals, black fruit, some licorice and a little menthol. Ethereal in the mouth. Needed 5+ hrs to show its stuff. Had the staff standing in line for some shared pours. Great showing. At peak but bottles like this one are going to deliver pleasure for another 10 years easily. — 7 years ago
Committed to trying more old world wines this year and this is a tasty number to kick that off! Easy drinker, very subtle cherry, not fruity. Definite acid and citrus, light tannins, would go great with red sauce as well as heartier fish. Appealing ruby color. Opened up with some air-time/decanting for sure and would likewise benefit from some cellar time. But a very good vibe even at this young age. — 8 years ago

Dryyyyy and bubbly — 12 years ago
Some of the happiness may indeed be because I've been a little to Californian lately. Occupational hazard. This has got pretty violet aromas mixed with herbal notes of pine and faint rosemary. Palate reflects aromas, adding dried cranberries, leather and tobacco notes. Good tannic grip. — 13 years ago
Lots of strawberry — 6 years ago
17•+ remarkably young colour. Good nose, though not v complex. Same on palate - v good fruit, elegant but not as interesting as I’d expected. Maybe decant next bottle. — 6 years ago
