Casa Madero, founded in 1597, is officially recognized as the oldest winery in the Americas. This bottling is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the high-altitude vineyards (about 1,500m/5,000 ft) of Valle de Parras in northern Mexico. Black & blue fruit, cool, ripe yet with nice tartness & restraint and an earthy undertone.
Better on the palate with great balance between the cool yet sweet fruit, the quite present tannins and the juicy acidity. Everything comes beautifully together.
A typical, picture book Douro red.
