Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruit, smoke and earthy herb spices. On the palate this Nebbiolo showed flavors of cherry and plum, with licorice and oaky pepper spice. Fine soft tannins on medium+ finish ending with smoke and earthy character. Nice value! Drink now! — 9 months ago

Required almost 2 hours of decanting. It was quite the experience because this Barolo continued to evolve and provide new flavours throughout the night. Plums, figs, berries, strawberries, raspberries, followed by vanilla, oak, humidor notes, earth, mild herbaceousness, truffles. Tannins are big, chewy but soft and persist for a long time. It’s a complex wine that provides gifts of new flavours that are very well integrated. — 5 years ago
100% Frappato from Vittoria. A light savoury delicious lunchtime red. I realise these tasting notes have a sameness about the but cherry earth and light spice is what many of them are about. Often the Wine plays second fiddle and is just an accompaniment to the food in Sicily and many parts of Italy. Interesting that this Frappato is 7 years old. — 7 years ago

Love this Falanghina white grape. Crisp & citrus tastes. Found this at Total Wine for under $12 — 10 years ago
Feels like infanticide to drink such a young Barolo, but a lot going on here already. Powerful yet delicate with nice crushed dark fruit notes. — 10 years ago
Deep woods, dirt, blood, on the nose . Lots of blue/red fruits. A bit tight, I PnP, gave it a good 45 mins out. I get some wood… now that could be my weird post covid mouth….or not.
A ‘16 from Castelletto, lush and forward, but I sense lots of aging potential. I have 1 more. No rough edges, a bit of acidity on the back which is nice and lifting.
Tannins nicely integrated and fine. Manzone’s site only indicates neutral casks, not what wood specifically.

Tart lemon balanced with a pithy backbone. Floral notes. CHF 9.95 in the supermarket — quite a deal. — 3 years ago
Tannins have some nice silky structure. Cherry is full flavored with medium-long length. But boozy of a nose — 4 years ago
Rich nose with notes of leather and licorice. Full bodied, rich, potent, strong tannins, long aromatic finnish. Will develop further with some years in the cellar. — 6 years ago
Dry, deep, slightly fruity — 7 years ago
Wonderful as always. We are doing a tasting between big Bordeaux glasses vs regular white glasses vs champagne glasses. I preferred the champagne glass my wife the big Bordeaux glass. Love the fresh floral notes. — 8 years ago

Great Italian Pinot with a long cherry aftertaste, really nice blackberry flavored and earthy taste. This worked really well with Moroccan spiced chicken fire roasted eggplant and couscous. — 3 years ago

Excellent! Smooth, not too dry and not sweet. Easy drinking and can be drank alone. May not stand up to bold food flavours. — 7 years ago
