Time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Tasty and spicy. Delicious and extracted. A very typical Cabernet for the region, but oh so yummy.
Dry and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, graphite, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Very fruity on the palate and elegant. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime (3 hours).
I've heard many people trash the 2017 vintage in California. So far I've not seen that to be true, and this is a great example of that.
This 4 year old is still very young, and would age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with grilled Lamb chops.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
95 points.

Very fruity strong berry notes almost like a fruit punch taste — 5 years ago
Compared to the Anthem winery LPV wine, this one has just about an identical nose. The nose of this vineyard just seems to be a "purple" kind of note. But, the wine seemed to be very different. This wine was a little on the lean side. Entered with black cherry and a hint of fig and dark chocolate in the middle. Finished with a moderate youthful tannic bite. The sweeter side of this which it probably displayed 2 or so years ago has started to soften, and is starting to allow some more interesting notes in the future. Probably one of the more balanced LPV wines I've had to date without a doubt, but it failed to hit the upper rung of wines today. The Rudd Samantha's and 2005 Spoto Private Reserve stole the show. Regarding this wine, I think it's probably a good idea to lock it up for 5 years to see what it has in 2023. Considering what people pay for these bottles, you've got nothing to lose by aging it in this case. — 6 years ago
Really fresh fragrant and delicious. — 6 years ago
A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs. — 2 years ago
Incredibly good value red with bold fruit and pleasantly low acid. Deep ruby body and rich unfolding flavors. Body of red and blue fruit, strong cassis finish. — 6 years ago
I love the aromatics on this wine. Always thought this was the feminine expression from this producer versus their masculine Las Piedras bottling. Raspberry, blackberry, graphite and cedar. Tannins have softened a bit in the last 18 months and this is ready to go with an hour decant. — 6 years ago
