Excellent aglianico available at the Renaissance Napoli. — 4 months ago
Popped and poured into red Solo cups. The 1997 “Radici” Riserva pours a garnet color with a near opaque core and a slightly orange rim; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe, tart, and some desiccated fruit: Montmorency cherry, plum, licorice, smoked meat, balsamico, a mix of organic and inorganic earth, exotics spices and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tanning and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and earthy. This was quite the departure from the Napa wines surrounding it but made a statement. Drink now through 2037. — a month ago
Bought at Pine Orchard 11/24 $13. Nice rich berry flavors, good balance of acidity and tannins. Great with pizza and other tomato sauce dishes. — 6 months ago
believe this is Caprettone, grape i never heard of but this is a delightful wine from a DOC where i usually enjoy the red blends. this was a dull straw/greenish flecked color with an unusual nose of honeycomb, savory biscuit, herbaceous, minerals, funk, along with tart notes of some orchard fruit. we had with seafood pasta - working remarkably well. little age on this offered add'l intrigue & complexity, luxurious mouthfeel, lithe weight, balanced acidity. — 16 days ago
Very interesting Campania white made from the Aglianico grape. Golden straw color with silver highlights. Aromas of citrus fruits, yeast (lees contact?), white lilies and wet stones. Flavors of red apple, strawberry, bread dough, lemon lime, toasted nuts and abundant minerals. Long finish, vibrant acidity and a hefty texture. Nicely aged and quite unusual. — 3 months ago

Medium straw gold color. Bright aromas of citrus, tropical and stone fruits along with hints of wet stones and fresh herbs. Flavors of lemon, peach and pineapple fruit with additional notes of flint, almonds, dried apricots, white pepper and those fresh herbs. Noticeable minerality on the long and crisp finish. Medium bodied with a slight creamy texture. No sign of oak aging. Elegant, yet quite earthy and versatile. — 25 days ago
