Pushing that complexity line enough to fool anybody into possibly not reisling. In comparison to 2017, which I just hate to make but is totally undeniable, 2016 is my preference by a long shot. A good experience to have them within days of each other and over long periods. This one has a certain finesse and dance that is really worth noting; a mastery of the making. — 4 years ago
When open the cap, plum aroma dashed out straight away. Dark berries, slightly oak. Medium to full body. Spice. Soft tannin, high acidity 8/10. Long lasting. Not very happy with the strong bitterness. Overall well balanced. Mastery wine aud$14.9 from danmurphy — 4 years ago
Tasted at the estate with the owner, it has been an emotional explosion. It's hard to describe... Authentic, elegant and complex, although still young this wine is pure emotion, with an endless aftertaste that favours meditation. The vines are grown according to respectful and natural methods, Flavio is a true depositary of piedmontese ancestral viticulture. The vineyard itself is idyllic, bursting with biodiversity and showing all the mastery of the man who works it. The winemaking technique is traditional, slow, the cellar is carved in the tuff soil, extra humid with the bare stone still visible. For me it is a perfect match — 5 years ago
I have had quite a few tasting notes of this wine on Delectable over the years. An excellent Bin 28 from a good vintage showing Penfolds’s mastery of Barossa Shiraz. Chief Penfolds winemaker Peter Gago likes Bin 28 between 15 and 20 years of age. This is in the window at 16 years. 90% of the production is probably consumed before that window is reached. Out of the dozen I bought many years ago this is the 2nd last and the best so far. Definitely no Barossa fruit bomb showing stalky savoury notes. 2002 was a cooler slower ripening year. Excellent wine 96 points. Gago was right.! — 6 years ago
In every sip of this wine you can feel Degrassi’s mastery in making the best of the great grapes itself. Rich, full of smell and taste, fruit-forward, but with many subtle fruit changes during the same sip - from blackberries to dry plums or raisins. Definitely one of the best Croatian CS’s and one of the best wines from Istria. — 6 years ago
Always a pleasure to taste the wines of JP Brun. This purple-colored Moulin-à-Vent delivers magnificent airy notes of undergrowth, ash, accompanied by a floral burst of dry roses / peonies; Morello cherry, blackberries. The mouth is very fine. silky tannins testify to a great mastery of winemaking. 2017 vintage begins to « pinote » wonderfully and will win again with a few years in the cellar (for those who enjoy Burdundy style). Reference!
— 4 years ago
Light and fruity, trendy nature. Very easy to drink. The nose is charming with beautiful floral nuances (peony, rose, violet) and very Gamay red fruits. the juice is fresh, the matter on the palate is delicious. Jean Paul Brun has a great mastery of his art. At € 13.50 a bottle, what more can I say !? — 4 years ago
Drinking beautifully, 45 min decant. Excellent tart red fruit, excellent balance and tannin integration. Spare stateliness, personified. Drinking this wine is like watching Gene Kelly dance: elegance, mastery, nothing wasted. Paired with London broil and chocolate pasta, cacio e pepe . Ty, Fass Selections. — 5 years ago
Unquestionably great, but a Burgundian architecture may not be the answer for high-end Albariño. Very high mineral definition combined with wood aging makes it bottom heavy even with lively aroma and bright acidity. The mid-range lacks transparency and presence, but only in comparison with magnificent highs and lows. The winemaker's mastery is bit too much in evidence instead of the terroir. Too much control and not enough freedom. Maybe little too refined and sophisticated on the surface, even though it does have soul. — 5 years ago
Cloudy Bay's Sauvignon Blanc was the New Zealand shot heard around the wine world. Today, they still prove to be leaders with the grape. Drawn from the Wairau Valley, if you like Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, it's hard not to be captivated by Cloudy Bay's. Explosive and beaming with its audacious greenness, the wine shouts of oregano, green pepper, thyme, tomato leaf, and most every other classic flavor you can associate with New Zealand SB. Cloudy Bay's still got it - and with the 2017 you can taste their mastery. — 6 years ago
My favorite wine merchant pushed me to go to this winemaker .. carefully, I start with this entry-level cuvée around 13-15 €. The color is deep ruby, the nose is discreet. The palate confirm the visual intensity. Aromatic tones typical of Cabernet-Franc grape variety: strawberry, pepper, anise. A medium-bodied wine with a silky texture that testifies the mastery of winemaking. The aging is discreet, putting the fruit in the spotlight, more than the tertiary notes. It’s a friendly, accessible wine. For its price it's really great! it clearly makes you want to explore the rest of the winemaker’s Cuvées. — 4 years ago
Jean Claude Lapalu is a magician. Like its other cuvées, this wine is a nectare of fruit. 100% gamay, "natural" wine without sulphites added (or very little) ... a complete, round, harmonious and homogeneous wine from one end to the other. Carbonic maceration bringing a lot of freshness and an explosion of fruit / flowers on the palate. A wonderful comtempory wine for those who like fruit and freshness. Endless finish, proof of the great mastery of the winemaker — 4 years ago
What a wonderful expression of the Combsville vineyard and Andy Erickson’s mastery of wine making. A nicely balance Cabernet on the front with a treasure trove of chocolate on the backend to complement the bouquet on the nose. This 07 is defined nite at a sweet spot for opening now. — 5 years ago
Reacquainted with Paul and his mastery work @Small Vines Wines. Light ruby in color. Pungent nose. Perfume. Rose and lavender. Followed by bursts of strawberry, bright cherry pie. Short finish. Delightful. — 6 years ago
Wonderful. Real balance of flavors and a nice dry, very long finish. I love Ridge wines. This is a great example of their mastery of wine. — 6 years ago
A Bourgogne that tries to hit all the notes. Overachiever. Natural mastery. — 6 years ago

Round and supple, with a very generous body on the usual notes of well-crafted Syrah: blackberries, blueberries, chocolate, roasting, caramel, tapenade, pepper, violet. The attack is fresh, and the finish not that long, but the whole is very mastery. The perfect wine for grilled meat, pepper or shallot sauce.
— 4 years ago
