Medium ruby , slighter narrower ruby / pink rim , a little less bright . Slightly deeper , darker fruits , blueberry, violets , with scorched earth , mineral and grafite . On the palate , more intensity and power perhaps , more noticeable though still velvety tannin , dark fruits , mineral , saline , fresh cigar. Lovely fresh acidity , balanced alcohol . Long saline , mineral tinged, slightly toasty finish . Needs time obviously , but will be one of the great wines from a great vintage in 20 years, just wait — a day ago

On the palate quite elegant red fruited , dried cranberry , red currant , still very much alive , just enough acidity. The powerful and dense l’Evangile 2015 is according to some experts the last vintage of the classic style of the chateau. I have no experience with more recent vintages, all I can determine is this wine is wonderful. Fairly fragrant. The palate is voluptuous with a creaminess and melted tannins. Ripe fruits, baking spices, black truffle, olives, peppercorns, rock salt, sweet tobacco, noble wood, chocolate, roasted coffee beans. So opulent and so delicious. — 2 months ago
