This is one of our favorites. Lush and smooth. Nice tannins. — 10 years ago
Simply magnificent. Complex, an absolute powerhouse, but without being a bully. The stages flow seamlessly together, initial bright fruit, quickly reinforced with earth, vanilla, and beautiful, lush tannins. The finish lingers forever. One of the most composed wines I've ever had. An easy 10. — 10 years ago
Wine with lush fruit flavor balanced by structure and elegance, salute! — 11 years ago
Satisfying. Deep red some blue. Dark chocolate and cherry, at times like pie filling. Vanilla and spice from the barrel. Lush, full, granular tannins. Warming but not noticeably alcoholic. — 9 years ago
First, a person has to pause and realize how lucky they are to drink this wine from 3L. Thanks Clyde for opening. This is in a perfect stage. Such evolution, length, balance, structure. Love the lower 80's alcohol levels. It's rich, lush and near perfect. Dark cassis; ripe and resolved blackberries, dark cherries, black plum w/skin, mixed berry liqueur, tobacco leaf, leather so soft you would wish it as a pillow cover, dry pebbles, dark rich earth, perfect acidity and a rich, elegant, ripe dark fruit finish. In 3L, this wine still has 10-15 years. — 9 years ago
Jammy and lush — 10 years ago
A powerful blend of Grenache, Petite Syrah and Syrah from Orin Swift. Deep nose of dark fruit and chocolate. A full bodied wine that lingers on the palate as the lush fruit , tobacco and cocoa comes across with an exclamation point. We are drinking this in lieu of dessert. — 10 years ago
Straw nose, cassis and lush on the palate. — 11 years ago
Decided now would be a good time to try out out the 2013 Prisoner. While not as good as the 2011 the structure is different, showing a ton of black pepper and balsamic on the nose with a little bit of violet flowers, and a very lovely, elegant finish. Big bold red and black fruits give way to a lush, black peppery back end. The finish is shorter than expected but still nice. This is still a good wine, just not as good as previous vintages. — 11 years ago
Heitz has still got it baby, 1998 Napa cab standing up nicely at 18 years old. The color is only just showing signs of age. The nose is full of mint and lamb. In a strange spot since its not especially lush or fruity and yet hasn't fully developed the tertiary notes you would expect. But has the bones to go longer still. — 9 years ago
Stunning! Fresh cut violets! Gorgeous perfume of rose petal, potpourri, lush fruit and super decadent, sexy perfume on the finish. — 11 years ago

This stuff was freakin' awesome. Glassy, ruby red you can read through yet full. Levitates on the palate. Elegant tannins. Black fruit. Overall smooth, lush mouthful with sticky, earthy finish. Awesome. WBA $89 at Public Services — 9 years ago
