Not as intense as the Roar but very good. Some cola, dark fruits and more. — 5 months ago
Wes Hagen, 20 year veteran wine maker at Clos Pepe Vineyard, joined our group and gave us a master class in Santa Barbara pinot noir. We tried 11 PNs from 2004-2010, made by Loring, AP Vin, Sandler, Siduri, and Brewer-Clifton. This AP Vin was my #2 although the group rates it closer to the middle of the pack. No longer producing unfortunately… — a year ago

Loved the ‘09 and a fan of Shea. This was near the best of both. Bright red fruit. No tannin. Nothing not to like. Would buy a case of it if I could find it. — 2 years ago
No new oak. Most Kessler hawk
Nose: white flowers. Pear.
Palate: delicious. Pear. Clean. No oak taste.

Didn’t know Kistler was in the Pinot business until this showed up from WB…and while a very good one, not up to Kistler’s level in Chardonnay…very nicely fruit forward, but a little too sparkly at the front and a little too wooden at the back. Solid but not exceptional….falls short of Loring & Testarrossa — a year ago
Matthew Cohen
10% new oak
Nose: plummy dusty.
Palate: darker fruit. More pommard-like. But bright. Very good balance. Hint of balancing bitterness. Very lithe
