A brilliant vintage for this wine. A top 5 Crozes. Easy. Spice, game, some funk, blueberry, black berry, black cherry, huge granite and even some wilted flowers. Young but tasty palate of dazzling granite and velvety tannins and engaging energy from the minerality. Terrific power, depth and concentration. Needs 5 years. So long and such beautifully defined fruit on the incredibly long finish. Really rich and dark. Awesome. Wait 5 years. As this opens the balance becomes superb. Almost a 9.4. Good mid-palate concentration, and high acid despite 15% alc. comes across as both elegant and burly, plenty of length in the finish but not without tongue-numbing heat.
