Believe it or not, this is my first La-La and what a way to do it with a 1994 no less! Flintstone vitamins, gym socks, pomegranate, purple flowers, minerals like crazy…and what seemed like an impenetrable wall of granite. Tons of baking spices. Modern? Yeah of course but my goodness the quality is indisputable and this worked really well with Iberico pork cheek, mushroom ragu with lavender and thyme. The reality is, even at 30 years old, this is youthful. Drink now through, I dunno, 2044? — 2 months ago

To celebrate my 9,000 reviews on vivino, here is a beautiful Pinot Noir.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong fruity nose with bing cherries, raspberries, sweet strawberries, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, earth and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, black cherries, light earth, herbs, spices, vanilla, cedar, black pepper, light cola, dark coffee and licorice. black pepper.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Pinot Noir from Burgundy is already drinking very nicely, but still extremely young. Well balanced and smooth with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
I had it blind right out of the bottle. That was a nice surprise. I called 2018 Burgundy Pinot Noir, but I did not see this kind of bottle coming... What a great experience to blind taste such an iconic wine.
There is always an aura when drinking these kind of wines, but drinking them blind, gives you a perspective that might be missed otherwise.
Needed 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, and bring more complexity. Much better once it opens up.

I had an older vintage of this wine a year ago, and it is such a different wine. Will continue to age nicely in the next 30 to 40 years.

Orange in color, very pretty and unique.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and medium sized bubbles.
Dry on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing green apples, light grapefruits, yeast, light raspberries, citrus, limes, light earth, minerals and herbs.
This 16 year old is showing nice complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely the next 10 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
Dom Perignon is not my favorite Champagne, but this one is really delicious. I got to call it when I see it.

Elegant and robust. I just love this vintage for Dom Perignon.
A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Magnum, Great btl that was fresh & youthful. — 3 months ago
Rarely do I go over the top on ratings but this is very deserving. Just extraordinary in its complexity, balance and profile. Dark and inky in the glass, loads of red and black fruits, cedar and a hint of chocolate. The finish just lingers and the tannins have softened. I'd say this was well worth the wait. — 6 months ago
From magnum, the 1996 Grande Année pours a brilliant pale gold color with a persistent mousse. Initially, the wine showed more oxidative notes but it freshened up considerably with air (in fact, a tiny amount was leftover for the next morning and it remained brilliant, racy even!). On the nose, notes of almond, citrus, honey, chalky minerals and brioche. On the palate, wine is developing with absolutely brilliant acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and zippy. The 1996 vintage is simply amazing. Here we are, 28 years past vintage and this bright and full of life! Granted, it’s a magnum, but still. Drink now with patience or enjoy through 2046+. — 2 months ago

As sweet as I'll go and realy good. — 3 months ago
Dark purple/black color. Intense aromas of blueberry, vanilla, smokey bacon fat and caramel. The bold palate is quite complex. Flavors of blue/black berry fruit, dark chocolate, maple, ripe plums, black pepper and coffee. Rich and plush. Mouth coating texture. Long finish and chewy tannins. Ultra full bodied and quite expressive. Works especially well with grilled meat. — 4 months ago
