Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2021

2021 vintage. Pleasant throughout and hit plenty of notes without screeching. The KB style has changed in the last few years. Gone are the mega-extracted pinots altho those are still around and holding up in the cellars/secondary market. Those older wines were a 10 on the volume scale. The last few vintages are closer to a 5. That said, this should hold up and develop nicely for a decade+ without issues. Those that don't think you can drink CA pinot noir over 4-5 years old are in for quite the surprise with quality producers. 04.18.25. — 4 months ago

Bootlegger's Hill Chardonnay 2021

Incredibly nuanced and perfectly balanced Chardonnay. Beautiful aroma and couldn’t be more presently surprised at such a delicate California Chardonnay! Wish I bought more. — a year ago

Treehouse Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Outstanding example of how a little age on the right wine can pay dividends. Seven years ago this wine was very good but hard to distinguish from other Kosta Brown vineyards. Today it has acquired charter comparable to a fine burgundy. Very pleased! — 4 months ago

Heritage Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021

A bit disappointing. Thought this was Browne of Kosta Browne (using just his surname post-sale) but alas, it is not. — 2 years ago

v15. Very nice, shaved, smoked cedar nose. Bold, rich, mixed cherry and tar fruit. Dry, tight mocha finish. Definite food wine. — 4 years ago

Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Better than the other Kosta Browne Pinot Noirs I have drank and less expensive at $70. Intense cherry but not overdone. Smooth and elegant. — 4 months ago

Thorn Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

9.3

Tried two of their more current releases, 21 Russian River & 21 Crown Gap and this 2017 Thorn Ridge from Magnum. Always consistent, solid Pinots from KB. Paired well with the Duck.

At Pebble Beach Food & Wine 2025.

The ticket to this event has a pretty big price tag. But when you consider what a Napa etc. tasting or two and lunch would cost you, you are pretty much there and there is so much more than that. It ends up having great value. It’s wine, spirits and food candy land.

Site Series Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Dark, slightly glass-clinging garnet purple. Abundant nose of compote blueberries. Medium full palate confirms the nose adding plum juice, red apple peel, violets, and graphite. Medium acidity. Medium, mildly assertive tannins. Medium long finish. Classic rich HHH that's a perfect bridge between California fruit and Bordeaux structure. Beef, lamb, and rich stews are in order. Drink now through 2027. — 2 years ago
