Color : White
Wine estate : Champagne Palmer & Co
Designation : Champagne
Name : Blanc de Noirs
Country : France
Vivino : 4/5
Note : A very pleasant black white with its 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Meunier. A golden robe composed of bubbles balanced on a mineral and powerful nose. A roundness in the mouth that will continue on a greed and perfectly accompany a meal. A fruity blend with these two pinots gives us this champagne filled with freshness.

Pale Ruby. The colour belies the rich nose and beautiful rich palate. My notes say “could not spit this out “ which you need to do for many of them because after 34 Grand Crus one will have drunk approx 1 1/2 litres of wine and not only be legless but not able to adequately judge the final bracket of 6 Vosne Romanee GCs which you definitely would not be spitting out! This Mazoyeres was my equally Top pointed Wine in the Gevrey bracket — 6 years ago
12.9% ABV
82% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Noir.
35% fermented in barrel.
Serving this next to another $120 bubbly (2006 Taittinger Comte) I have to judge with both my wallet and preference. Unfortunately that doesn’t fall in the favor of this Schramsberg which showed a bit of reduction notes (noticeably some lead pencil shavings).
No doubt a great US sparkler but not a competitor with great Champagne at this price point. — 6 years ago
Structured, long finish, silky smooth. Beautiful nose. Will be even better 5 years from now — 2 years ago
See previous notes. Classic Coonawarra mint, black fruits, dark chocolate and cigar box. Singing at 11 years but will go for another decade at least. Barb and I are flying to Adelaide today. Hire Car tomorrow for the 4 1/2 hours drive south to Coonawarra where we will be doing vintage at Bellwether for a week. Should be illuminating, hard work and rewarding with a great tutor in Sue Bell, owner and winemaker. Sue was lucky enough to be one of 12 in the annual Len Evans Tutorial a few years ago where they taste wines most of us can only dream of including flights of DRC, Rousseau etc. Sue was the Dux of her year and is in demand around Australia as a Show Judge. Should be a great week. — 3 years ago
Aged for 10 months on oak, 29% new, deep Ruby with aromas of sweet berry fruit and toasty oak notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with smoky oak notes adding in tea, spice and cacao notes. Fine soft tannins, lingering ending with a big mineral spice finish. Nice! — 6 years ago
Vi har köpt hus! 😎 Kan bara firas med en Palmers 2009:a. Smakar extra fint en solig vårdag som denna. — 6 years ago
Yum! Sweet plums and dried fig juice. So ya, sweet, but not overly. Would be amazing with spicy BBQ — 6 years ago
Although this one did tend to have a citrus rich body, it is definitely a malo mouthfeel and more of a buttery chard. This wine was still quite delicious, and it's not really even my style. I was getting some lemongrass on the front, with a peach and mango note in the middle. The finish is more on the buttery side for my taste, but still went lovely with cheese and meat. Probably would have gone very well with Italian spiced nuts or with an herbal chicken dish. I believe this wine probably would have been more comprehensive if served with food. I think this one definitely has the longevity to age, but I'd put more stock in the Judge chard to do that most effectively. — 7 years ago

Pepper and spice and all things nice as the saying goes as well as a violet note. Very youthful at 10 years of age. The following night a blackcurrant peppery note. Good persistence and length on the medium bodied palate. Tom Carson, the owner and winemaker of Serrat (a Catalonian word meaning close planting - in this case 8800 vines per hectare - one bottle of wine per vine). Tom is also the chief winemaker at Yabby Lake and an in demand Show Judge with a very good palate - Serrat is his private venture with French wife, Nadege. They also import a small excellent range of Burgundy. — a year ago
