2017. Decanted 4+ hours. Pains me to not give one of my favorite labels a 95+, but this hot vintage is simply missing the red fruit to go with all the rustic leather and barnyard funk that makes Pegau so unique. Rich but not sure fruit is going to come around. Discounted- $50 at Wine Library, elsewhere. — 6 years ago

Only if your anniversary is on Saturday,👍🏼I continue to go back to this wine as... its comfort Chardonnay. — 7 years ago
Great wine, if a port is to sweet, go with this full body, dark red wine, a hint of pepper, with a mix of Zinfandel, merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. 2016 — 8 years ago
Go with both fish and meat. Slightly fizzled and light initially and evolved to complex with depth. — 9 years ago
Love this juicy cab. Great go-to bottle for home or hostess gifting. — 9 years ago
Robert Parker says it best of the 1990: “This magnificent Lynch Bages has been drinking well since the day it was released and it continues to go from strength to strength. The biggest, richest, fullest-bodied Lynch Bages until the 2000, the fully mature 1990 exhibits an unbelievably explosive nose of black currants, cedarwood, herbs and spice. The majestic, classically Bordeaux aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, rich, intense wine with superb purity as well as thrilling levels of fruit, “ — 4 years ago

Very good - go to Costco — 7 years ago
One of the highest quality Italy can offer at present time. Dark ruby with brick endings, it looks as powerful and as majestic straight from the beginning. After several years of aging in bottle, the flavors are able to express at heir best: from a start of black cherry we go to licorice, passing through wet leaves, tobacco, and finishing with a slight hint of cedar wood. Palate is deep, powerful, yet perfectly round, with silky tannins creating a perfect harmony of sensation. An incredible product — 8 years ago
Broke out the good stuff tonight to go with some fresh clams and watercress salad 🍷yum! — 9 years ago
Justin is a flavorful cab with a delightful and surprising finish. Not too sweet. Justin would be my every day "go to" if it wasn't $23 a bottle — 9 years ago

Wine Nerd herd virtual tasting of various vintages from 90s, 00s and 10s - mine was the 2013 - 88% CS, 8% PV, 3% merlot and 1% CF from various vineyards in the valley floor region - four hour decant - this is less fruit than you would expect but certainly an amazing wine - Napa finest at a modernist style Bordeaux blend - nose was rich with tobacco leather cocoa and forest floor - heavy to medium body yet the wine was soft because the fruit was muffled - mid palette with black blue and red fruits - orange peel cinnamon and sweet silky tannins integrated nicely - this could easily go 30 more years but not sure it will get better so if willing to decant and maybe even double decant for an afternoon this wine is ready for being paired with a cowboy bone in rib eye steak and will not let you down - truly an enjoyable experience as was all vintages tasted last night - HUGE SMILES — 5 years ago

An awesome Christmas gift a couple years ago from @Joe Lucca and this had me jolly. As with many old wines from Piemonte the nose was wonky on pop. Wet cardboard, dirty socks, potential TCA, but it all blew off pretty quickly. Instead of fading it ascended as the night went on. It settled in to a classic mature well stored Barbaresco. It still possesses ample sweet red fruit, tobacco leaf, balsamic and mushroom. Reports from @romo are that it was even better on day 2. — 7 years ago

A glass to go with the EMP duck. Black pepper, cassis, red plum and hints of allspice and tar. Palate is bright but needs a little weight. Spice tone with dried cherry and cranberry fruit. Nice vibrancy for a wine of this age. — 8 years ago
A long way to go to reach its full potential, but promising and enjoyable all the same — 9 years ago
Super fun wine to get us ready for the Bordeaux Masters Class this afternoon.
Medium garnet core with bricking in the edges. Layered nose with some definite bret, not off putting at all. Notes of barnyard, leather and dried red cherries. Well integrated and balanced. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Very rustic on the palate with some dried red cherries, forest floor and cedar. Long finish. Enough finesse to go another year or two but why wait, drinking well right now. Drink till 2019. — 9 years ago
