La Chapelle Hermitage Syrah

Vegetal and tangy purple fruit. Sour cherry, bramble blackcurrant, salinity iron and some stink. Very feral and lively. Good stuff.

More fruit forward the other mid 90s bottles I have had of this wine - lacked the classic pepper of Syrah and had a strong bacon fat nose that took me further north...would’ve been interesting to enjoy the bottle over a longer period of time

Acid (somewhat lactic & volitile), some flesh and lingering silty tannin. A solid expression. Fifth time tasting
