This was a surprise. The body was lighter than I expected, the nose practically busting with forest floor and dusty ripe red fruits, dusty tannins, but for this meal it paired perfectly. Drank at Arnaud’s in New Orleans. #pinotforpresident — 4 years ago
2009. Musty in all the right ways on the nose. Smooth and balanced. — 4 years ago
Not available at LCBO, great price point for the taste (~$35 by case) — 5 years ago
Round, almost creamy body followed by stone fruit and bright acidity. Great — 6 years ago
Medium dark rubi robe, nose of flowers and dark fruit, some anise. Very elegant in the mouth, good length, great finish. One of the finest producers of the north of burgundy and this is his most accessible wine. Great stuff. — 10 months ago
Nose is lemon, some discreet wood. vanilla extract, lanolin and an intense stony minerality. Sweet lime as well and just stunning aromatic depth and vividness. 9.4 nose. Great cut and almost zero wood on palate and what is there is lovely and complementary to the awesome acidity and freshness. Really long. Such a mineral bomb. Long. Wow this really drinks well for $32? A great wine. — 3 years ago
Violet color, plum, violet, blueberry jam. ? Is it PN? Quite juicy. Mistook to take it with Japanese food. This is for the one to enjoy it without food, after dinner. But depending on raising temperature, a bit animal flavor is getting increased. So it would possibly choose lovers. Or enjoy it at lower temperature. 2018 @2280, domaine -, 210519 — 5 years ago
Picking up a juiced pear on the nose today, but otherwise prior notes still apply:
Nose has ripe yellow apple, lightly oxidized green apple peel, baked phyllo dough, partially aromatic white flowers and damp rocks. I always get a natural wine vibe here, without the vinegar-like profile, but it seems alive!
Palate has baked green and yellow apple pastry, crisp acidity yet dense, candle wax begins on the finish and ends with dry granite. Great balance, very lengthy finish, clean and not cumbersome, superb vintage, long life ahead. We love you Jean-Jacques. — 6 years ago

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading just one wonderful piece, MAHLER (Symphony No. 3), accompanied with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.
We're revisiting some producer bottles from our late Spring France vacation earlier this year.
Stunning nose of pineapple core, wildflower honey and wet stones, I'm not sure I can actually describe all the magic happening in this glass. Palate is evolving with each sip, under-ripe pineapple, over-ripe pear, watery honey, light oak touch and wet slate dust. Just amazing!
Photos of beautiful late Spring (2018) biodynamic vineyard rows in Saint Aubin, my winemaker crush Jean Jacques Morel giving us the low down inside his living cellar and our bottle of the evening.
We only enjoyed about 1/3 of the bottle, saving for a day or so to see where this goes, notes will be updated. — 7 years ago

Really enjoying the generous, sensual, textured nature of this vintage and top producers really nailed it. — a year ago

Nice HH budget Pinot bubbs with strong roasted apple and fresh citrus finishing with a nice creaminess! — 5 years ago
Estate named Beau-Séjour in 1787 by General Jacques de Carle, proprietor at the time. Michel Bécot bought estate from Dr Jean Fagouet in 1969 increasing vines from 10.5 hectares to 15, acquiring Trois Moulins plateau in 1979, kept the name Beau-Séjour Bécot. Blend of 87% Merlot, 9% Cab Sauv & 4% Cab Franc. Nice berry aromas, ripe cherry & fresh raspberry flavors with notes of sweet cacao & tobacco adding some toasty notes. Firm tannins, not overpowering, lingering ending with tangy sweet oak.Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago

Big, brambly nose with lots of red cherries, mid season sour cherries, earth and mineral. Really clean and evocative. Palate is juicy and so precise. Very clean and a lovely mineral/fruit wash on the finish. Great depth, freshness and terrific concentration. Not elegant but this wine never is. It has such impact for little $$. Nice, ripe tannins and serious structure. This is always best at 5 years old. — 9 months ago
