A classic Tuscan and by far the greatest year of the 20th century in Italy. Holding up surprisingly well and still some youth. — 9 years ago
Still holding together well — 12 years ago
Perfect wine for my sister's 23rd. Medium to dark garnet red with lighter edges. Interesting nose with leather, mushrooms, more savory notes, a little smoky and only a touch of fruit. Some forest floor as well. Well integrated flavors and tannins (6/10). Layered with tertiary notes, dried cherries, dried twigs and solid earthiness. Solid acidity, holding this wine together. Delicious at 23 years old. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2020. — 8 years ago
We've veered into old Bordeaux territory here. Big, spicy, and brash, still holding weight, although the fruit has begun to dry slightly. Shared by a generous guest. #insignia #napacab #napavalley #napa — 9 years ago
Surprise. 1997 is still alive. Nice maturity but plenty of fruit. Even holding its own the second night (and this was a half bottle... Must have been well cared for). Color is dark blood with brick edges. "Unfiltered" is an understatement... I could have planted a vineyard at the bottom of the bottle. — 9 years ago
1983 - holding much better than equivalent Bordeaux. Rich, torrefaction - deep layers of fruit emerging through heaps of forest floor. — 10 years ago

Who says the 97's aren't holding up?!? Great bottle. — 11 years ago
What a nose! Fruit but strongly tinged with spice and hints of cigar? Medium body with fruit and acid but latter lingers into finish which RC says should note be for Napa cab and sign of post prime by 5+ years. But still great to drink. Next day under agon the nose lost that spicy note but the palette holding very nicely. More rounded today. — 9 years ago

I really don't think there's a better Sauvignon Blanc out there. 4 months later, continues to develop; continues to impress. The depth and complexity really are second to none. You'll pay a premium, but it's worth every penny. Two bottles left; holding one for the long-term just to see what it can do. — 10 years ago
Last bottle of one of our favorites. Based on the last two, I think this is just past peak and would recommend drinking up if you're holding any. — 11 years ago
