From a restaurant list, decanted and poured. Great nose right out of the gate. Notes of dark fruit, creme de cassis, tobacco leaf, cigar box and earth. Really good in the mouth, with nicely matched fruit, acidity and resolved tannins. Silky texture. This is in a good spot.

This was a baby. Nose totally closed at the beginning and took an hour to blossom. In general this is a wine that's just shut down right now and still needs a few years before you try.

Best after 2-3 hours. Muted nose. Palate has green pepper, leather, licorice, faded fruit. Lengthy tannins and acid lead out the long finish.

In magnum. Holy crap this was good. Dark fruit, Cassis blackberry, but earthy and still had these amazing soft tannins. Did not show its age. Still a lot of life left.
