One of about 7-10 Ca Chardonnay’s I enjoy. My last of three. Their 2018 is slightly better than other of their vintages I’ve had.

This rides the fence of of white burgundy & Ca Chardonnay.

Macerated red & green apples, some lime & lemon pulp, tropical fruits, kiwi, heathered honey, caramel, sandstone, saline, dry river stone, soft white spice, just a hint of brown sugar, a near chalky presence that coats the tongue, vanilla, frothy cream foam, yellow flowers, jasmine nice round acidity and an elegant rich, balanced, nicely tensioned w/ a 60 second finish that lands on volcanics and just a shade of spice. — 2 days ago

Inky in color with a reddish rim.

Strong fruity nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very elegant.

Showing blue and black fruits with wood, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, earth, spices, chocolates and light black tea.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 8 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now, although feels a little tight and young. Elegant and rich, but not extracted.

Fruit forward with good structure. Complex and interesting, spicy and entertaining.

Needs a few hours to open up properly, so be patient.

A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Aged in (80% new) French Oak barrels for 22 months.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

It’s been 4 years since my last bottle of this 2016. Really softened up. Easy drinking tannins, well balanced. Dark fruit, blackberry, walnuts, baking spices, melted chocolate. Medium plus finish. Very nice. — 2 months ago

So, this had nice fruit but it lacked depth & character. Especially, for a 2019. Most 19 Napa Cabernets or blends have shown me more. Also, would have expected to see more integration of what is there.

On a another note, I took the top right picture of their estate Merlot on 7/11/26. This is the furthest advancement of veraison in early July of Merlot in all my yrs. Or, in July period. This is what happens when you have a very warm tail-end of winter and warm Spring. It was 95 for many days in March while it was technically still Winter. 👀 😳. I have lived in Ca a long time and have never seen 95 in mid March. Climate change is real. It is likely they pick this August 10-15. Do not recall that ever happening either. — 3 months ago

2017 vintage. Preferred this (barely) over the Dakota effort same vintage. More similarities than disparities but the Montana had slightly extra length on the finish. Light-medium/medium body.
