Favorite fruity white to span time with this summer — 7 years ago

Mon dieu! This wine has an incredibly mineral-flushed nose, almost minty from all the whetstony chloride-alkaline minerals! Light ruby slightly hazy in color; medium-high acids and fine tannins, red fruit-dominated and perhaps a bit disappointing on the finish. Try in 3-5 years?! Excellent value at 10 USD for a half bottle! — 7 years ago

Rad Spätburgunder from the Pfalz; Koehler-Ruprecht never steers me wrong. Bracing and a bit rustic yet still elegant. Pours a medium (-) ruby garnet hue. Benefits from a tiny bit of air before serving but not like, necessary to decant it either. Wild raspberries and strawberries, blood orange peel, fennel seed, woodsy spice and birch bark, mushroomy, forest floor earthiness, and some floral rosehip character on the nose. The palate has more bracing, alpine red berry fruit, woodsy spice, rose floral character, and forest floor, supported by lively, medium (+) to high acid, and medium (-) tannin. Light to medium (-) body. Solid stuff. In a nice place right now, maybe would peak in a couple years but no compelling reason to hold on to it much either. — 9 years ago

Very light and easy to drink. No harshness. — 5 years ago
Det är en riktigt bra flaska vin. Söt och god till det mesta. Första försöket förstördes av flädersaft. — 6 years ago

For years a personal favorite, this wine delivers both deliciousness and uniqueness. Red and blue fruits and a faint hint of baking spice keep inviting you back for another sip. This was the perfect foil for our pre-Christmas turkey dinner. And pinot meunier is one of those grapes not often featured alone as a single-varietal wine, especially unique since this one comes from white-heavy Germany! 100% Pinot Meunier. 12/23/21. — 5 years ago
If you haven’t had a Spätburgunder/Pinot Noir from Germany, particularly from the Pfalz region, it’s about time. There are few wines that over deliver for the money as consistently as these do. On the nose beautiful mushroom and forest floor. On the palate, acidity and minerality, tart cranberries, with some umami. So good. — 5 years ago
Excellent wine. Only slight floral notes, barely a gewurtz. Great with food and to sip alone. Perfect acidity and balance — 6 years ago

Pop and pour. Notes from 4 hrs open. Wow. On the nose: peach and apple with some wax and char sidenotes. On the palate: a suggestion of sweetness in the first hr is replaced by fantastic acidity, nettle, lemon and lime with time. Lovely density on the vibrant finish. — 4 years ago
