Ruby with complex fruit aromas, spice and oak. Blend of 89% Tempranillo & 11% Graciano, aged 48 months on American oak. On the palate flavors of jammy dark berry fruits with spice & smoky earthy notes on ripe full soft tannins. Long finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with fruit, oak, cigar box spice and mineral earthy tones, a joy to Sip this Fine Wine!! Tasting great, has more aging potential! — a year ago
Smooth... Buttery finish. Full bodied flavor, but not overwhelming — 5 years ago
Delightful bouquet full of candies berry landing on the palate with lots of layered flavor - fig, blackberry, licorice - and just a little glycerol, but a nice lingering and headed length. Might last longer still if I didn’t need another swirl and sip before it passed ;). Good value under $24 — 6 years ago
Superb bottle that caught me by surprise. Bold and full-bodied with a bit of spice and dark fruit. High alcohol, so be careful, as it is surprisingly smooth & will sneak up on you! — 7 years ago
Oaky, but not too much, very full flavor with a velvet finish. A little bit of pecan, and a tart cherry flavor. VERY good. — 8 years ago

My new favorite. Lots of fruit. Full body. — 6 years ago
This was an amazing wine, full and filled with flavor. Texture was silky and smooth. Every flavor was magnified and enhanced with each mouthful. Even without a meal this wine is recommended but better when shared. I tasted dark chocolate but not sweet just rich in texture with a cocoa fragrance. A long finish extended the pleasure with no acid or dry aftertaste. — 7 years ago
Nice full bodied wine. Should age nicely — 8 years ago

This bottle of 1983 Pichon-Lalande (I really can't be bothered to type out its full name) is the best of many encountered over the years. This offers gorgeous melted red fruit, woodbines, smoke and cigar humidor scents that could only come from Pauillac. Hints of black truffle and morels follow after about an hour in the glass. The palate displays lovely balance, poised and fresh, perhaps more vigor than I ever expected, with just a hint of dried blood on the finish. Impeccable provenance played a role here, but it is still a 1983 that should not be underestimated. Tasted blind at Pichon-Lalande. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2023)

Deep, but undiscernable fruity characteristics on the nose.
Plummy, jammy notes and very drinkable. Full-bodied and spicy. Some dark chocolate notes, too.
Paired with wild grains, sauteéd greens, and baked salmon filets. — 3 years ago

Love this wine. 2012 vintage. #josephphelps biased review. — 9 years ago
Bright with a dark ruby purple core lightening slightly at the rim. Aromatic with ripe black cherry, cassis and a touch of red berry brightness, with toasted vanilla, licorice, and cinnamon spice combined with cedar and subtle smoky cocoa notes. Full bodied with black cherry, black currant, and red berry fruit on the entry, mixed with complex spice of vanilla, licorice and cola accents.. — 9 years ago
Super tasting. Full of berries. 13.9%. — 11 years ago

Very enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon. Plenty of body and full flavoured with blackberries and cherries. Luckily, I have another bottle.
