Very classy yet pent up. Drinks pretty good now, but was opened way in advance of tasting. Reminded me of Heitz Martha's Vineyard a bit. Blackberries, medicinal herb, lavender, and fine tannins.

What an iconic wine. One could even say it was the catalyst in changing the Italian wine scene. Unfortunately I don't think this wine was showing its best today so a little bit hard to rate but none the less... Blackcurrant, raspberry, raspberry leaf, herbaceous and a smidge of oak. Impressively structured wine as one would expect, but wasn't forbidding.

Always a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose blue berries, cassis, earth, tobacco, cedar, pencil, medium to full bodied on the palate with the same fruit flavors, this wine does not impress at this moment, unresolved tannin and a short finish 92 DSP
