Collector's Series 50th Anniversay Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

It is #FridayCabernetfix time. Here is a gorgeous one from Napa Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a wide red/ brick rim. A very pretty color.

On the nose blueberries, black currants, spices, cedar, cooked cherries, black licorice, vanilla, tobacco, green pepper, pencil lead, earth, herbs, light vegetables, dark chocolates, dark coffee and peppercorn. Very nice complexity on the nose.

Medium plus in body and soft, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, wood, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, bitter herbs and graphite.

Long finish with fine tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with a tangy and spicy finish.

Not your typical Napa Cabernet, which is nice to see. Showing lots of fruit and earth notes, that make it very interesting.

This 8 year-old from the great 2012 vintage is drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and blossom. I had a little taste right out of the bottle, and let it be for 90 minutes. When I came back, what a big difference on the nose, especially, so be patient for that lovely nose.

This is a wine to savor. I loved smelling on it for a long time.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Great with the Brie cheese.

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Beautiful nose with lots of black fruits and cedar notes.

Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, cola, light vanilla, chocolates, licorice, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is starting to drink nicely now, although still young.

Rich and fruit forward, but not as much as I expected it to be. Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years, and has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours in the decanter.

It's definitely time for some good Cabernet on this #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice one from Napa Valley.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish/ brick rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, blackberries, licorice, wood, light vanilla, tobacco, spices, light earth, pencil lead, chocolates, coffee, black pepper and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, light cedar, vegetables, pencil lead, light vanilla, tobacco, herbs, licorice, earth, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates and spices.

Medium on the finish with fine grained tannins and chili pepper.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Elegant and smooth with a nice mouthfeel. Showing nice complexity at this point.

Needs an hour of airtime to open up properly, and bring out the complexity. This 9 year old is not from a good vintage, but it is drinking very nicely now.

A gentler version of the big Napa Cabernets. Subdued with lots of earth notes, at this point. I really enjoyed smelling on it for a long time.

A nice wine to pair with food or to have all by itself. I paired it with a Pepperoni pizza, but it was really nice with the brie cheese too.
