Foyt Family Wines Elevation Series Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Beautiful nose with lots of black fruits and cedar notes.

Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, cola, light vanilla, chocolates, licorice, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is starting to drink nicely now, although still young.

Rich and fruit forward, but not as much as I expected it to be. Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years, and has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours in the decanter.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were grown at 1,200 feet of elevation. Aged for 20 months in (35% new) French Oak barrels. A tiny production of less than 700 bottles.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.
