Great QPR at $25.00 per mag
Winery notes,
beautiful terroir skillfully worked by Jérômine Paret and Philippe Garnier. Responding to the call of his parents, Jérômine gave up a career as an English teacher to take over the family estate. She then studied business and allied herself with Philippe Garnier, who has one goal in mind: to achieve excellence. She does not regret her choices today and her customers don't either! Thus, the estate evolves each year with new wines and techniques. The organically-farmed vineyards are planted mostly to Marsanne, and this is reflected in the blend, which also includes Bourboulenc, Clairette, Sauvignon, and Ugni Blanc. Fermented entirely in stainless steel and resin-lined cement vats, the wine shows notes of white flowers including honeysuckle, jasmin, and citrus blossom, while aeration reveals secondary nuances of aniseseed, eucalyptus, and hazelnut. — 5 years ago
Animal, leather, dried cherry, violets, sandalwood and black pepper. Very savory and rustic at first, with air it really transformed, showing the elegant and polished side this wine has. This had a richness to it that I found really appealing, a heftier expression of CC, vintage perhaps? Only regret was not enjoying this with a piece of lamb/beef 😭 — 6 years ago
A truly amazing tasting hosted by non other than Rob Greer!!! We loved hearing the history of his vineyard and his transition from making what he called “Fun” wine to making “Fine Wine”. If he was shooting for simply fine he completely missed his Mark. This one was absolutely unequivocably Superb!!!!! Wow., his 14 was balanced., balanced, balanced. Seamless integration and a touch of oak which doesn’t over power the wine. This was Badass in a Glass for sure!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Greer wines by Howard Greenfield a few years ago. I’ve never looked back and say YES SIR to my entire allocation on a yearly basis. Wonderful medium bodied barbera. Super Smooth with a hint of spice, chalk and plum. And a great price at $70 and Morton’s. Buy if they have it, you won’t regret it. — 7 years ago
On the nose, bold, ripe fruits of; blackberries, boysenberries, huckleberries, blueberries, dark cherries & black plum. Warm baking baking spices, mocha, light caramel, black cherry liqueur notes, rich dark soils, perfumed violets & lilacs. The body is round and full with powdery tannins. The fruits sing on the palate. There is waves of fruit, earth and florals that swirl and dance across your palette. The fruits are ripe, sweet and lush; blackberries, boysenberries, huckleberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black plum with juicy strawberries coming on strong at the mid palate. Black cherry cola/licorice, vanilla, light caramel, mocha, semi-sweet loamy dry soils, just a touch of crushed rock powder, soft spice-box, fresh tobacco leaf, perfumed violets & lilacs, round, rich, palate raining acidity and finish that is simply long, well balanced with perfect structure/length/tension and above all beautiful and elegant. It just swirls and dances endlessly & gloriously in the mouth. What mouth harmony! Photos of, vines in Stags Leap, Charles Hendricks, ripe fruit for the picking and one of mine and Charles favorite paintings. Producer notes and history...Charles Hendricks is one of the best Winemakers in Napa Valley. He is well grounded in the science of winemaking. As a 1982 UC Davis viticulture graduate, Charles was able to tailor his own curriculum, and was one of the earliest to integrate winemaking and viticulture course work. Having knowledge of both viticulture and enology forms the bases for well-rounded winemaking under varying circumstances; this is the making of a great Winemaker & consultant. His greatest gift is the ability to make wines the are elegant, beautiful and smooth young but will age effortlessly. Charles Hendricks sees himself as an assistant to the natural bounty of the vineyards. Using his knowledge and experience to guide and coax the very best from the wine grapes. Charles believes in minimal intervention in the wine cellar, but knows that if we leave nature completely on it own, we would be in the vinegar business! To quote him, “It is a wonderful game of hide and seek that we play with Mother Nature…It is natures glory to conceal, and the winemakers glory to reveal, to discover and to persuade the grapes to unveil their highest potential, It is the playfulness of guessing when and how much to step in, that is at the heart of the winemakers’ task." So true in his case. Charles makes his own label wines only when he has the very best of fruit. He is also is the Winemaker for Hope & Grace and until recently was the Winemaker for; Regusci, James Cole and T-Vine. In previous years, he's worked with; Viader, Barnett Vineyards & Paoletti Vineyards. He is truly a gifted Winemaker. If you are able, seek out and try his Henrick's Cabernet & Santa Lucia Pinot Noir, you absolutely won't regret it! @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher — 8 years ago
Really opened up after about an hour. Just lovely balance of ripe cherry and tart acidity. Drink now or wait, but you won’t regret it now. — 4 years ago
Impressive wine. One of my first experiences with cellared bordeaux this 2004, and WOW. 30 min decant, then Cedar on the nose with minerality, its scent was beguiling. Beautiful garnet color, no brick from oxidation. Beautiful cherry-raspberry flavor, acidity, and balance. And that cedar. Blown away!
I regret foolishly leaving a glasses worth in the bottle for 2nd day because the nose was lost. Drink it up. — 7 years ago
This wine is full of aromas of spices and tobacco. Tannins are pleasant, balanced and well composed on tongue. The effect is quite spectacular. I regret I opened this bottle. It's from 2012, so there still was a time for this wine. — 8 years ago
The 2010 has matured nicely with softening of the considerable tannins and just a hint of oxidation. The fruit and acidity of Syrah and Grenache paired nicely with Asian dishes—wagyu bulgogi and a slightly spicy shrimp and vegetable stew. I regret this was my last bottle since it will continue to evolve and please for another 5 to 10 years. — 4 years ago
Are you kidding me? Only $19. My only regret that I did not buy a case! No pesticides, true reflection of place. Wonderful minerality. Transport yourself to a cool mountain stream. Serve at 40-45°. A SommSelect choice. — 6 years ago
I can’t believe it. We purchased this after a long day of wine tasting on Seneca Lake, and I expected to regret it. It is an absolutely delightful table wine, doing chewy fruit flavors, stone fruit and black cherry. No offensive wood, tannin, or acid. Really ... surprisingly great table wine. — 7 years ago
An excellent product coming from a difficult year in Chianti region. Thanks to its position, slightly in the inland of Central Italy, allowed Rúfina to have a bit less rain compared to other regions, allowing for better maturation of the grapes. Frescobaldi produced a splendid product, full of fresh fruit, blackcurrent in particular, with slight hints of spices, round acidity and soft tannins. Let it rest for a bit before opening it. Ready to drink in 2018, open it as soon as possible or regret later. — 7 years ago
Picked this up from the St. Paul Greek Festival 2017. Nose of licorice and blackberries with flavors of blueberry, pepper, vanilla. A mellow, but highly enjoyable Syrah. My only regret was not getting a few more bottles!! — 8 years ago

Another confirmation that Greg Brewer makes some of the best, age-worthy chards out there. This 2013 is awesome. My only regret is that I don’t have another bottle to see what it will be like in 3-4 years (I’m guessing even better). — 4 years ago
