This was pretty epic. It needed a nap and it is ready to roll. — 7 years ago
Chateau Latour is my favorite 1st Growth, they demand patience and inspire not just hedonistic pleasure but also analytical thought.
Both amazing but need massive amounts of air or another 15-20 years minimum in the cellar. I get the feeling they both will hit a plateau once they blossom and slowly move towards full maturity for decades.
The nose on the 2005 rose with little agitation and shot from the hip to nose with ease. By far the most youthful and I tense nose of the evening.
The 2000 was not dissimilar in its progression, if a bit more refined from the extra few years in the glass. A cerebral wine that was also deeply pleasurable, it kept bringing me to what this wine will be like in 15-20 or more years. Easily a 50 years wine from a macro view.

2001 Case Basse Di Gianfranco Soldera Riserva Brunello. Drank this at Toscana w JM and others. First red of the night and this was epic. We thought it would be too young- decanted an hour or so. It was perfect. So smooth, rich, no hard edges, velvety, and long finish. This was my fave bottle of this wine we've ever had. KLD agreed it was showing perfectly. — 8 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry currant, licorice, dried herbs, dusty leather and oak. Great structure and well-integrated tannins. — 9 years ago
1993 Domaine Dujac 1st Cru Les Gruenchers Burgundy. Drank at The Grill on the Alley w K, McC, and Gill. Awesome treat to try this wine. Was in perfect shape, despite its age and this might have been our fave of the night. Def notes of plum still lingering on this wine. Epic. — 9 years ago
Not a bad way to end the epic #birthyear tasting! — 10 years ago
I know this site is mainly for wine, but nothing like a 7 year old beer to renew your faith in local brewing. Dried bananas mixed with candied lime zest with a bit of barleywine style malt on the finish. Amazing. — 10 years ago
🐶 Epic bottle swap from Roger this month - what a lucky boy I am 😍 Check out his review also 👍 a 💯 RP wine! & so much life left in it 😎

Pours a thick dark black with almost no head. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, molasses, and bourbon all playing nicely with each other with no one flavor overpowering the others. A very nice barrel aged stout. — 7 years ago
This is as good as Bordeaux gets. Pure perfection in a glass and got even better with an hour+ in the decanter. Wonderful earthy notes, Forrest floor, leather, spice, faint menthol and bell pepper, floral, cigar and some dark fruits finished with the kiss of God and a drop of angel tears. One of the few wines I've ever had that I would rate 100 and an epic experience. — 8 years ago
This is an amazing beer. Delicious! — 8 years ago

'01 vintage. Epic bottle. I love Rayas. So so different to anything else. — 10 years ago
This was epic! Beautiful nose with amazing barnyard character. Almost smelled French. On the palate great minerality, great texture, fine tannins and fruit! Could have gone for many more years. Had with braised ribs in port wine reduction sauce. — 11 years ago
1999 Domaine Leroy Clos de la Roche burgundy. Lunch w S&C F at Bouch. Decanted 45 min, after standing up for 4 days. Note to decant an hr next time. K wants to buy more. Epic — 7 years ago
Marc Horchar was in town today, which so happens to be my Mom's birthday. These epic Musar whites are as they do: waxy & brooding at first, then revealing white flowers and a dense galaxy of structure & starry depths. I hope Mom enjoys her bottle of mind-bending history! — 8 years ago
Fairly epic. But give it a few years. In stock now. — 8 years ago
1994 Screaming a Eagle Cab. Drank at Charcoal. Loved this wine! Epic. Balanced vanilla, fruit, oak and amazingly long finish. Epic. — 8 years ago
2006 and 2007 magnum GGs side by side! These two epic bottles were the stuff of legend with the 06 showing more forward momentum and complexity, while its 07 counterpart seemed to sit and brood in its obvious youthfulness... Both were sublime, but the 06 is the one to drink and get all hedonistic over while the 07 slumbers happily. #Keller #Hubacker #grossesgewächs #GG #Riesling — 9 years ago
Epic 1998: stunningly fresh & young, but so much density & development at the same time — 10 years ago
