2016 vintage.
Bright crimson red with a very perfumed nose of black violets, rose, sage and dried strawberries.
Beautifully developed flavours of black cherries, tea, leather and minerals.
Polished silky tannins with bright acidity and a juicy sensation on the finish.

On nose its floral, dried tobacco, earthy, white pepper and creamy as well.
On palate, its blackberries, plums, wine is full bodied, medium+ acidity, tannic, too young but shows quality from concentration and intensity. 50% Merlot and 50% Carbenet Sauvignon — 6 days ago
Garnet transparent. Oak. Cherry, raisin, leather, spices, licorice. Tannic, acidic at initial. One hour, getting smoother. But lots of tannin. 2nd day, much better!! 3rd day, tannin is better than before. 4th day, still good. Quite robust and powerful. It should be good 10 years later to wait for tannins’ melt. 15 @2950, wine plus - Ambassador, 240604 — 5 days ago
Solaia has changed a lot over the last 10 vintages. This wine is more perfumed and has a weight not seen in say a 2010. Wine is still tight but is clearly packing a lot. The composition is excellent. The fruit is there but mostly in reserve. I liked but didn’t love this… Yet. I suspect it will be quite special the next time. — 24 days ago
Another solid vintage of this consistent Tuscan Red. Blend of primary Sangiovese with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended in. Medium ruby red color. Aromas of red and black berry/currant fruit with hints of coffee and meat. The palate shows plum, cherry and strawberry fruit flavors with additional notes of tobacco, menthol, iron and spices. Very earthy and crisp finish that includes a touch of vanilla. Nice complexity and balance. Great Lead-off wine, Keith S! — 14 days ago

Nice but not quite at the true top level, especially given the price. Decanted 4 hours which is necessary at this point. Nice pairing with a big T-bone steak cooked in the Tuscan style. Could use more acid on the finish. Probably needs a few years to come together. — a day ago
