Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

2019 vintage at Signature restaurant; quintessential Pinot with a bit of barn p-funk, fruit forward, very smooth and medium body. Excellent finish and paired nicely with truffle risotto — 2 years ago

Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2019

Great Chardonnay. Needed 3+ hours of being open to come together. More bread and hay on nose, tropical fruits, honeysuckle, a hint of citrus. Palate is lively with acidity. Some lemon, honey, brioche, pineapple, tart peach, and a lingering perfume after swallowing. Lovely. — 3 years ago

Donnachadh Vineyard Syrah 2020

So well balanced. Good fruit, white pepper, plum, cherry and the stem. Excellent with meat for dinner. Lighter bodied for ca but still substantial. This is a crowd pleaser. — 3 months ago

667/115 Clones Donnachadh Vineyard, Blocks 3A and 3B Pinot Noir 2021

2021 vintage. Tasted four times in just over a year. Consistent with body (medium), spice factor (check) and finish (lengthy). Enjoyed yet again with the owner, Andrew. 11.20.24. — 9 months ago

Swan Clone Donnachadh Vineyard Block 8 Pinot Noir 2020

2020 vintage. A tad earthier than the vast majority of Santa Rita Hills stuff I’ve ripped through. 13.5% ABV. Medium body. The expected SRH prettiness is front-loaded fruit with the dirtiness following on the finish. Excellent concentration and a whopping 75 cases made. — 3 years ago

@Shay A Definitely. I’ll try to taste this again in 6 months. Thinking it’ll be slightly more settled down and could be a 9.4.

Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2019

Elegant mineralogy with a touch of salinity due to the vineyards proximity to the Pacific. Just exceptional — 7 months ago

Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2021

Definitely on the Chablis and champagne side of Chardonnay. Nose has hay, lemon, sour grass, peach, pear, passion fruit. Palate is more typical of chard with lemon, cream, grass, stone fruit. A hint of tropical fruit. Pretty long finish. I like this better than the estate. — 2 years ago
