Boudreaux Blend rivals the likes of Dominus & Insignia.
Decanted for 80 minutes. Cab Sav, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot & Malbec.
Sweet vanilla, black cherry and cassis with a tobacco base. Very soft tannins blends nicely with Super Bowl finger foods. 🏈🍷🏆

If it's a California Cabernet you seek, look somewhere else. If it's a structured Bordeaux-style Cabernet you're looking for, then carry on. Kind of tastes like a lighter version of a dominus. — 9 years ago
1997 Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri Sassicaia CS/CF. Drank this after the '99 Grands Echezeaux and '01 Dominus. This was our fave of the night. Velvet. — 9 years ago
In comparison with the Dominus from the same year the 389 was more fruit forward. More "Aussie". Trademark mocha choc malt notes with cassis. — 10 years ago
Sweet notes
Well melded tannins, red fruit and black fruit
Bit of spice
Third Meritage wine in the Hanukkah celebration.
Might have commanded an even better score but it was chasing the Dominus and the Les Pavots
Glad I own two more

Merlot is the reason He is back. Nicely balanced Chardonnay with a nice touch of lightly toasted oak spice. Meyer lemon zest finish very zesty non Malo Pinot Grigio around 4000?cases light aromatic varietal 9% Chardonnay only 13.2 alcohol has a pretty floral notes lemon blossom lychee nut fruit very clean and apple very clean — 11 years ago
Following winemaking posts at Rudd, Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek, David Ramey and his wife, Carla began their own label in 1996, a Chardonnay from the Hyde vineyard. Hyde, in my opinion is their best Chardonnay. Aromas of ripe stone fruits with citrus notes and subtle oak. On the palate complex flavors of apple and peach flavors, crisp oak, well balanced lingering finish ending with slight mineral notes. Drinking well now, should improve over next few years. — 7 years ago
Had this about a year ago. After stints at Rudd, Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek, winemakers David Ramey and his wife, Carla began their own label in 1996. Sunshine Straw with aromas of stone and tropical fruit with sweet vanilla oak scents. On the palate apple, peach and apricot flavors, citrus zest with toasty oak. Lingering on a smooth finish ending with creamy notes. Delicious! Aged well. You can still find the 2014, so grab one, you won’t be disappointed. — 7 years ago
Following winemaking posts at Rudd, Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek, David Ramey and his wife, Carla began their own label in 1996. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 2% Syrah & 2% Petit Verdot. Deep purple with fresh berry fruit aromas and earthy spice tones. Blackberry currant flavors, almost jammy, with herb notes and soft fine tannins. Medium finish, easy drinking best now over next couple of years, ending with a spice character. — 7 years ago
Initial leathery notes. Creme de cassis came through later with time in the decanter. 2001 vintage. Not overly herbaceous - very polished. An excellent, well made Cabernet which has the strength to carry on for years. More new world than old world unlike Dominus for example which could be Left Bank. Overly expensive at Rockpool. — 9 years ago
A solid, but not spectacular well balanced wine and almost fully ready to go. Definitely a Napa cab done in an earthier, Bordeaux style. This "3rd wine of dominus" is apparently only available in Ontario and Japan and currently kicking off a good amount of sediment. — 10 years ago
Didn't have the 2002 Dominus so "settled" for this beauty. — 10 years ago
Balanced and proper. Showed well along with the 1994 Dominus. — 11 years ago
Following winemaking posts at Rudd, Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek, David Ramey and his wife, Carla began their own label in 1996. Platt is Ramey’s coolest vineyard. Aromas of ripe stone fruits with citrus notes and subtle spice. On the palate tons of fruit just starting to emerge with apple and lemon flavors, well balanced lingering finish ending with a slight mineral tang. Drink now and over next few years. — 7 years ago
Following winemaking posts at Rudd, Dominus, Chalk Hill and Matanzas Creek, David Ramey and his wife, Carla began their own label in 1996. Straw with aromas of sweet stone fruits with citrus notes and honey scents. On the palate ripe apple, peach and apricot flavors with toasty oak, creamy. Lingering smooth finish, energetic, ending with earthy notes. Delicious! — 7 years ago
I don't get the hype. Well made but I'd rather have an old dominus at this price — 10 years ago
Best of the three bottles that we had, and that's something.... Because the original guy from Dominus, was the guy that owned Petrus... This was just real good... Looking for a case tomorrow.... Trattoria Romano/Boca. — 11 years ago

A completely different wine than the Dominus. This was full throttle and slams you back in to your seat with its G forces. So ripe, almost over the top; but it decelerates just in time and the finish is so succulent it lingers in your mouth forever. Filled to the tip of the cork with graphite and teeth staining purple fruit. This is the malevolent bastard child of a young Colgin IX Syrah and 2000 Chateau Pavie. Gobsmacker. — 7 years ago
